After 3 hours on the A roads, it's time to put the roof up, switch on the a/c, and hit the autoroute.

No trip of ours is complete without our traditional visit to the old Reims circuit

Promise me that you'll post a roadmap of this trip when it's finished... I'm so jealous, so like you said, must get back/even next year... For now, keep up the pics!

Yes. still reading even if I'm not posting.

You're making me want to paint my grill black now, too.

Get um painted 8)

Day 15 Lens to Home - 390 miles

Up early today for the 7am departure. It's an easy drive to the Chunnel from here, about 70 miles on the autoroute.

We arrive home mid afternoon; the end of another excellent Euro tour. I'm really beginning to struggle for new roads to drive, having done a lot of touring over that last 10 years. We have enjoyed re-visiting some places on this trip, and having a bit more time to take it all in.

Highlights were -

Susten snow blizzard
Nufenen Pass
Klausen Pass
Stelvio (3rd visit, still love it)
Goletto delle Crocette (NATO base)
The Ferraris
Lake Iseo
As always - The Alps

Mileage = 2912
Most miles in one day = 595
Fuel = £520
Tolls = £84
Vignette (Swiss road tax) = £24
Overall mpg = 28.2

We're going the Scottish Highlands later in the year; fingers crossed for the weather. As for 2010, we've been invited to a wedding in September, in Italy. Sounds like a good excuse for a bit of a drive :D !

My report seems to have gone down well. I hope it's given you some ideas, or inspiration to plan something similar yourself. Many thanks for all the feedback. Putting together this travelogue is like reliving the holiday all over again. Having fun sharing with you folks makes it even more enjoyable.

Until next time - Dave & Kathryn :)

As always Dave your planning is meticulous and some of the roads look fantastic! Brilliant pics of the Alps. It makes me want to go back to Zermatt :)

Thanks for sharing Dave.
I have added a few of your roads to my Honeymoon/Euro Trip next year!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this from start to finish. I get the impression you've done threads like this before I arrived, so I'm off to search through your history now :D
