Starting an E89 wheels thread, as I can’t find one...

Feel free to post a photo of your E89 and state which wheels and size are fitted

IMG_20191229_142238.jpgI don't remember seeing one - maybe you need to change the thread title and start one.

Still I did have E89 Style 295s on my previous E86 - I've also got E89 Style 290s on my 3 Series!

19” Veemanns on mine after losing all faith in the previous 326’s, i found they weren’t all they were cracked up to be

I've put some 19" 442's ( fronts 225/40/19, rears 255/35/19 - standard fit) on whilst I get my 326's fixed (although I am in two minds about this as they need a refurb + 2 new rears as well so I would need to spend £800 - on wheels that will probably crack again ). I spent ages trying to work out what wheels would like best on mine (inc the M4s and different styles of veemans) and never came to any concrete conclusion as I really like the 326's on it. I found these on ebay, for a steal - unmarked/refurbed alloys with good tyres and tpms valves (which I then realised I didn't need) for £450 and whilst they could do with some spacers on the back (I'll do that when it gets a little warmer), I am happy with the overall look, for the moment at least... 20201230_115006.jpg

Still got ye olde bog standard 325M 18 inchers on mine. Now shod with Assy5s which are a vast improvement.
Easy to clean and I like the look of them.
Since taking this photo I have added a 15mm spacer on the rears as they sat a bit too deep in the arches.

I like to think I'm an optimist.
I like the 296's too, and on my last E89 they were fine... but I also managed to avoid any major potholes with them. The 326's appear to be particularly prone to failure.. which is a real shame as I think they are the best looking wheel for the car (but everyone has their own favourite!).

I certainly have no intention of changing them

I think all large alloys are prone to cracking, mine originally had 296s - its now on 326s (so far so good for the last 6 years). I was looking for a set of 19" 295s, again all the rears cracked/repaired. When you see the state of our roads its easy to see why.

Mines on the 296's it left the factory with but they are due a refurb after 76k miles - so do I keep it stock or change the colour or even go with a different wheel. To be honest I haven't really seen any I like better - yet!
Appreciate it's personal preference but I can't look past the following designs for each corresponding Zed model:

Z3 - style 18
Z3M - style 40
E85 - style 107
Z4M - style 224
E89 - style 296

19" MAK Luft Silver Wheels
I seriously considered these as they look similar to 326s! nice

I love the look of the 326's but seem so fragile. I hunted high and low to find something similar and found these. Not cheap but they look very close to the 326 but seem to be a bit stronger (hopefully) - only time will tell :D
