E89 Market watch

If only it was like the old days when you could arrange for a sales executive to come around. I've spent many a happy hour wasting double glazing salesmen's time in my living room.

But aren't you wasting your own precious time too?

£26k for a 14 plate :erm: a clean one but £26k..............

I was offered that one back in December for £18k, albeit even with a private sale there would have been VAT to pay given it was in Guernsey at the time (which I guess would have made it £21.6k at 20%, if that's how it works).

Does look lovely but yes quite an ask!

£21~ £22k would have been strong but palatable anywhere north of that mmmmm.

Its a good one but still overpriced. I got my '15 for £21.5 last June at 10k miles

Out of curiosity I went onto wbac for a price on my car
£16950
My car is Sep 2016 - 35is - they make no allowance for it being a high spec car - I do realise that the price they offer is a commercial buy in price and not a retail selling price.
That’s the £5k / £6k profit margin on what the insurance certificate says its maximum value should be - but well short of the car advertised above. Mine is younger and of similar low mileage but none of the carbon stick on bits.

Just as well i neither want nor indeed need to sell.

I have gap insurance until Dec but next year I will need to address the insurance valuation - they don't seem to consider the spec levels?

I am bias but £26K is steep. It says it's a high spec car but it isn't. Standard toys for a 35is and just kansas leather seats by the looks of the images. With the low mileage £21K would be about right for a private sale

Did you know WBAC are owned by BCA? So are Cinch, the one with all the TV adverts nowadays. British Car Auctions seem to be monopolising the UK used car market. They deal with the sale of every lease car I've had in the last 15 years.

I know it's a 35is, but that looks externally pretty much identical to mine with 13k less miles. Mine (N20), a year older, cost £16k less than that 2 months ago.

If BMW had put an M in front of the 35is, I could maybe understand the premium a bit more.
As it was re-registered recently, it has no MOT history. AND they've forecast it as an "investment car"; that seems to be a very common theme from dealers who are overpricing cars ATM.
What was the RRP when new of that? £35k tops surely?

Add another 10k.

I will look at my invoice tomorrow - but from memory the retail price of mine with all its toys was circa £48k

That lovely blue 35i in the classifieds has the original invoice included as an attachment - just shy of £50k.

That lovely one in the classifieds catching your eye Tim my old boy? :poke:
