E89 Market watch

Hell that sound pretty rough - where was that in Pontypool, I have seen a few e89 around lately, in fact saw a two yesterday, one white and one champagne (this maybe the one as I think its Orion silver), also saw a black one last week.

Definitely the one I saw as it was driving between Pontypool & Abergavenny yesterday afternoon and it passed me just outside Goytre, looked ok but I was doing 50 going the other way but the colour is not the best.

That was it - just before the Goytre arms pub where I guess you would have turned into the housing estate, I was in a black DS3 Crossback returning from a trip to Trago Mills in Merthyr.

Got home an hour before the Rugby started but the less said about that the better.

Haha, yes 100% - the chap lives just a couple of minutes from that pub. Small world.

Nice fella to chat with but his car is way off the mark.

It looked ok as it passed me but the colour is not one would pick unless real cheap, there was a white e89 literally 0.5mile in front of you as well.

Some people idea of "mint" is not the same as ours - off to clean mine now but the weather is pretty rank but got to get out the house for an hour or three.

Sounds like an unloved Zed, the misfire on startup is probably leaking injectors so around £1200 to replace all 6.

Must of been bad Tim, its not like you to not to see potential in a rough diamond or a project that needs a little TLC :play:

Yes indeed - I enjoy a project car and the journey with my E85 and E89 was/is great fun. Fundamentally though they were both mechanically sound cars, and priced accordingly given what was needed to get up to standard.

I know the 6MT is a bit of a unicorn however, so some people may value this example differently and be willing to throw appropriate money and time at it.

I had the opposite experience on my last car purchase. Car was listed rather unassumingly and not tarted up at all for the photos. Just a basic advert with minimum details but the price was a steal so I was assuming the worst.

Turned out the car had new brakes, recent oil change and a fresh set of Goodyear Eagle F1 on all 4 wheels, brand new battery and a stack of dealership receipts for all kinds of minor items like windscreen wipers.

Had a look at that ad a couple of days ago. MOT history shows a leaking (adaptive) shocker last time around, so definitely worth checking if this has been addressed.

KN12 EDO is the reg.

Edit: price has gone up £500 in the past couple of hours too, was originally on for £12500.

I noticed a few cars I’d been watching, on the BMW AUC site have gone up in price in the last few days too. One M40i by £1500 compared to the price at the start of the week. Good for selling, not so good for buying.

I think if there are tariffs on new cars due to the Brexit/ No deal scenario, used prices might rise proportionaly.

Cheap car for the money

Same seller, could be a bargain.... But yes treat with a bit of caution.
