E85 used SIM85 coding with NCSExpert / ISTA-P

Besides ponzy and me...everybody else can easly code the SIM85 unit? or read at least the coding?

It's really strange...

A lot of modules are failing just lately and they seem to go in batches

Will start the quest to find another sim but £100 for the last one that appears to be faulty,new ones are selling for 25 % of the cars value,I can now sea why these cars are on for spare parts but look in very good condition ,worth more in parts than as a whole car . Maybe the dash out and black tape is the way forward,as some suggest.Not sure how effective a 22 year old airbag would be anyway.

[ref]ponzy[/ref], can you refresh my memory of the part number you need?
If I happen to locate one I would be happy to meet you and do a test fit. We could first try my software on the one you have fitted, then try coding the other one. If that doesn't work, or we manage to sort the one you have there then obviously I would hang on to the spare and you'd not have to pay for anything other than fuel expenses etc.
But given the distance between us this could take a bit of organising.

I have just had exactly the same issue with my wife's car, same set of numbers. I was replacing a '920' with a '767' and it didn't like it. I tried 3 modules and all the same.
Then I fitted another '920', checked the .his file and it said to code it as a 5147. I did that and it has worked!

So it must be something to do with the part number correlation even though technically they are all exchangeable.

Well it just worked for me. Apologies if anything I previously posted has misled you but I only just learned this myself this afternoon

If you have an 811 you need to check the .his file to see what it is paired with then select that option in Winkfp

Yes, original faulty sim, part number 6935920. Purchase a used unit part number 6939811,after edit vin and flash process using WinKFP, as per crib sheet, its now given it a part number 6962767 it also gives the physical hardware number as 6939811 which can be seen via INPA Ive checked with realoem and all seem exchangeable.

Just a thought............. Go through the process again, but this time, in WinKFP, select 6965147 and see if that works?
All my issues seemed to revolve around the 6962767 part number.

I thought that,so tried but it errors out incorrect zusb when winkfp goes to flash sim so aborts,looks like it has to be the same part number or it won't work,real oem referance compatible modules,maybe works if they are brand new units un- programmed.

No, I have used other numbers and they have worked. It is only the 2767 that seems to cause any issues. At least............. for me.

I can confirm issue is with trying to use a sim 6962767,tried another today and same error. Unfortunately the 6939811 SIM I Originally got has been given the 6962767 ZUSB during the flash process which does corelate to the sim85.HIS info.

It comes up with an error and gives me zusb 6962767 to 6962767, it appears to ignore its original number 6939811. looks like you can't go back to the original now it's updated to 767. You probably can if you know and I don't ha ha
As the zusb's are listed in pairs in the .his file first number original to be replaced or coded to second zusb number, maybe.
So in my case removed a 920 so replace with a 147 ,I don't know seems strange
