E85 used SIM85 coding with NCSExpert / ISTA-P

It fully blocked coding of DME

It interfered with the first stage of an airbag coding 4 times until I disconnected then it worked

Could be coincidence but I don’t do it now
In my experience if the voltage it too high, like 15v, or too low, like 11.7V, it will fail. It is recommended to keep it around stable 13.8v

Have to say every time I’ve tried to do anything module based to the car (DME and airbag etc) if I’ve had it connected to a charger it doesn’t work

I only code now with no charger attached and a well charged battery
What kind of charger and what was the voltage you use?
