:evil:Absolutely agree........life isn't like a Holywood film.....coz knowone gets out alive........so drive baby drive..Motionblurrr said:I daily a 2003 3.0i M54 and I'm about to hit 168,000 miles soon and I won't lie it almost makes me cry LOL. Though, if I die tomorrow, I'll be happy knowing I actually drove it! Nothing is ever permanent IMO and you can't take anything to your grave, so why not enjoy it!!

DaveP said:For example, there's no need to go changing your oil every 3k miles, or buying the most expensive oil you can find. Just any half-decent synthetic oil at reasonable intervals will be absolutely fine.
just a long drive required then to hit the top of the leader board then
Congratulations Sir........NUMBER 1 on the leader board.nrg said:I gotta be up there 174,500 miles
Fulhamsteve said:I think the linear way of thinking less miles=better and more miles=worse is flawed. IMHO Suspiciously low mileage isn't a good thing if it's not evenly spread over the car's age because it can suggest the car was SORN for long periods of time. Even worse is that range of say 80-100k which is when most cars generally start to show their age if they haven't been looked after. I've dabbled in Jaguars and Vauxhalls before and anything with a decent amount of plastic in the engine bay will start to suffer when you approach 100k in my experience.
Contrast that with a car with say 150-180k on the clock- seems high but if you think about it, to reach that mileage the car must be either a fundamentally robust design (i.e honda, lexus etc) and/or have been loved by someone. It will probably have been well maintained and have had the common failure points addressed, or it wouldn't have reached that mileage. What I'm trying to say is, often the mileage kind of whittles out the poorly maintained examples and leaves behind the cream of the crop.
