Pondering this one ........ any thoughts from the cognoscenti? December 2014 with 4100 miles and lots of letters and numbers ... 3.0 iDrive 35is DCT M ... I think! No idea what they all mean!

3.0 : 3 Litres Engine

iDrive: Satnav & joystick controls

Sdrive: Propulsion (Rear wheels drive)

35is: Twin Turbo Sport

M: MSPORT SPEC

What is the price tag on it ?

That reg somehow seems familiar, thinking it was Jamesbonds car... :?

Anyhoo OP, thoughts are, if you like it, buy it. Next question..?

The 35is is the E89 flagship model with 340 odd BHP, DCT dual clutch transmission. Perhaps do a little more research into the various models of E89 before deciding, you're going in at the top end and a powerful car with fuel economy non existent, fine if that's what you're looking for however.

Hope the forum works for you.

Thank you both ... very helpful. Not quite sure what the joystick does ... and would it have adaptive suspension? Fairly robustly priced but happy to pay for a good example ... p/exing a Lotus. Rather ask questions on here than bombard the dealer! I had a 2008 3.0 Coupe a few years ago but they seem to have gone a bit more hi-tech since then! Raced cars for 20 years so not too bothered about 340hp!

The sDrive 35is is the top of the range and gets as standard a Colour-Coded Rear Bumper insert with Diffuse Panel, Floor Mats with sDrive 35is Designation, Front Apron Air Inlets with Matt Aluminium Twist Motif, Seven-Speed Double Clutch Transmission, Brake Energy Regeneration, Servotronic Power Steering, Kansas Leather, Adaptive M Sport Suspension, Extended Lighting, Metallic Paintwork, a Sports Exhaust (which adds an extra 10db) and a Sport Steering setup. It also comes with a computer-controlled overboost function - The boost function activates after every gear change with full throttle, and lasts for 7 seconds between 1500 and 4500rpm. During that time frame, the car will have reached 500Nm of torque for 1-2 seconds, an increase of 50Nm (37lb-ft) over the 450Nm (332lb-ft) without overboost. The full 500Nm comes in 3rd-7th gear only.
Options for the Z4 35is include Alcantara or Leather, Extended Alcantara or Leather with the Pure Traction Design package and Exclusive Nappa Leather with the Pure Fusion Design package.

Definitely the best model in the E89 lineup! :)

Well ... I've just phoned and done the deal! haven't seen the car but then, they haven't seen mine for p/ex! Bit tricky being 700 odd miles away!
How bad can it be with only 4k miles on the clock? ... unless it's only been used for track days! Collect next week.

Good luck with the car  A small thing, but the M badge on the flank is someone's non-factory add-on. Strictly speaking, there is no M version of the E89 Z4.

Congratulations what a beautiful car. If it is Nick/Sandra's/Bonds old car then the chances are those 4K miles will be him driving up and down his driveway.

Nah they come loaded with M badges now.

Actually, it's not. It's an official from the factory M sport badge. Most M sport models have this rather irrelevant and misleading badge now. People think it means M division involvement when in fact it's simply a trim level. Welcome to the world of brand dilution for profit.

Good man, Certainly looks like a fine example from the info supplied. Next week is going to take an age.

I'm confused :? Are you saying that this Zed came off the production line with the M badge ?

Indeed it did Marlon, mine did too. You could opt for badge deletion on ordering, I forgot....

don't worry about buying sight unseen - Ive bought two Z4's that way - both from main dealers.
As for the car - you won't look back!

will you register the car in France? so what about headlights?

Not to be argumentative for it's own sake, Maniac because I know you know these cars, but I have never seen a 35is with that M badge on the flank. And the spacing is so off from the rest of the badge. Can you provide any images of this badge on any other 35is models? I did a google image search and could not find any. The BMW websites in both US and UK no longer offer the Z4 as a "build your own option".
