Does the boot light just pull out?

Hi all-seeing as i have a spare led bulb i was going to see if it made any difference to the boot candle-sorry light, but trying to pull the lens out it was just pulling the carpet with it and seeing as i couldnt find anything in the pdf manual about replacing said bulb i am thinking they last forever?

See the link to the diagram. Fixed recess on one end and clip the other.

If you want to improve the light just run a wire to the centre underside of the rear scuttle panel. There's,s a nice flat surface between boot lid and soft top tray.

Stick a £1.50 30 cm led strip (from eBay) on there and the boot lighting is solved. Bright, white and shining down, not across from some dark corner.

Andy I'm sure the wiring is already there for foot well lights, just get the part numbers for the lights from http://www.realoem.com should only cost a few pounds.

I bet if you took the boot light it would fit in the footwell.

These would also probably fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-Ser...CarParts_SM&hash=item415d986aa2#ht_4219wt_952

Thanks Iain mate-its just annoying because i asked the stealer if the boot light would go into the footwells and they said no

I think the boot light is the same as the footwell's too, have swapped them for LED's - And I have done what CJ suggested and put an LED strip in the top of the boot - makes a massive difference.

As for light removal - it is just prying the light out from one of the skinny sides, just put a screwdriver behind it and pry lightly.

The boot one I can pull out with just my fingers.... The carpet moves but the light comes out easily.

And if your car is pre wired for footwell lights.... Then don't waste your money at the dealer for the lights.... Get an led circuit board light and stick it under the panel... That's what I have done... As the pre wired lights were too dim
