It prob has aggressive dissolvers in like u find in ovencleaner.
Ur better off with wd40 and even fairy liquid and warm water is an excellent solvent degreaser.

I've found that Autosmart Tardis will dissolve virtually any sticky residue and it eats wheel weight backing for breakfast

Just don't use it indoors because it's got rather a strong smell

Had to remove the same sticky pad and residue from my wheel today AG Intensive Tar remover works a treat.

That's funny, I've tried that before on left over wheel weights with little success. Did you have to agitate the area with a lot of force to get it to shift? Always frightened that I'll take the lacquer off with it

ye tardis will work, but be carfull with this too, it can strip paints if theres no laquer

i just used some Isopropyl alcohol my wheels

 +1 for WD40. I had a similar issue on my motorbike wheels - takes a little perseverance but works a treat

Just kept working the same spot adding more AG ITR the my MF and after a while the sticky pad turns to a soft goo and job done it wont strip lacquer as it can be used on bodywork to remove tar spots
