The sticky steering

Z4 2006 and this electrical steering system. Nice car to drive but always looking for improvement. When it comes to handling the car I think that this el steering system is the "big ghoost" to destroy the full enjoyment of driving this car. So once again I come to this forum ton see if someone have a way to get a more precisly steering on this car. Can I just dissconect the el engine?

The Z4 steering with the motor on the column certainly lets the car down IMHO and is my biggest dissapointment in a car which I really love. There are things that can be done to improve it if you search this forum I am sure you can find them. I made one of the recommended adjustments some years ago and it certainly improved things. I think to get the optimum feedback/feel the best solution may be to convert to E46 hydraulic steering which some have done (try searching to find some posts, from memory requires a E46 FEAD and Z4M track rod ends), I have pondered that many times. the problem is it throws a steering error as the electric steering becomes non functional and that is an MoT failure in the UK. I am not sure if there is a solution to instrument cluster error)
