Would anyone be kind enough to darken up some CSL wheels. I need to get a 2nd hand set tidied up and I am considering going for an anthracite kind of colour.

The Black AP's are going on in a few weeks. I think the combo might look good on an IB Z4M.

I cant find CSL WHEELS on an IB car but these are close.

Thanks.

My old Velocity Motoring CSL replica wheels with custom finishing. By the way these wheels were the worst pieces of junk I've wasted my money on and I've had 6~7 sets of aftermarket wheels for my Z4/Z4M. To anyone who's interested in these wheels, spend the extra $ for the real ZCP's or CSL's - you won't regret it.

Brilliant thanks guys. WLH - hope you don't mind me using the picture.

Now to find somewhere that will do genuine CSL wheels justice.

fire-n-ice - glad you like the avatar :-)

Hey GP 20... whu are these wheels a piice of junk..? the reason am asking is because i am also looking for CSL replica wheels... gimme ur thoughts!

Most of the replica wheels are cast junk and considerably heavy. The best true CSL replicas out there are RAC Monolites RG4 and run $3300 for the set w/out tires.

Blacklines,

I've had my CSLs done last week in a very dark gunmetal shadow chrome finish, by Spit & Polish. The quality and finish are excellent. When I get back from Spa I'll post up some pictures of them, but I don't have any pics to hand at the moment...

The vendor (ModBargains) basically lied to me to make a sale. They told me the wheels weighed 24lbs front and 25lbs rear just like the OEM ZCP's. It turned out that when I weighed them, they weighed about 30lbs front and 31.5lbs rear. I then did a search on M3forum.net, and sure enough everyone that ever bothered to weigh these wheels got similar readings as I did. A difference of 24lbs is huge considering that it's unsprung weight. The car felt noticibly heavier and lost all the nimbleness. It's not so much about straight line acceleration, but more about handling & cornering. I'm not sure where you're located, but at least here in the U.S., OEM ZCP's go for about $1700 shipped from a couple of BMW dealers. They cost $700 more than the CSL reps, but they're worth the $700 premium. If you're getting 19" wheels, try to get ones that weigh at least close to 25lbs. If money isn't a concern, get light-weight forged wheels that weight around 20lbs.

^WHS..
I've heard the same thing from several others.
Basically you get what you pay for & the price of the OE wheels from someone like Turner (US) is worth every penny.

Hi Blacklines,

Just got back. I have a short video of the car, which shows the shadow chrome finish on the CSLs a bit. Sorry for the random format, it's all I have that shows the new wheels at the moment. The car was being shot for a mag in the video, so I didn't bother taking too many pics, as I'll be getting a DVD from the photographer in a few days, and my photography skills just paled into insignificance! lol

I missed the video link before. Have just watched it. You really do have the car of the moment. Awesome.

Regarding the wheels - Is the whole wheel painted or just the outside? Would you recommend Spit and Polish? Are you pleased with the finish?

How did things go in Europe?

Fitted original finish CSL wheels over the weekend. Decided to stick with silver for the time being.
