Gone over to the dark side

My 718 sat outside in 3 Scottish winters and the G29 has been through one so far, neither have needed any special treatment of the roofs to stay in perfect condition.

How much have they added to your trade in price?

Thanks guys, just spent ages configuring the systems, ordering the Gtechniq stuff now

It’s a firmer ride than the 35is but like any new car, it takes time to get used to it.

Expect to have sore arms over the weekend from putting on some wax. Boys with their toys as my wife keeps saying. :D

I can second the Gtechniq Smart fabric.
Used a few things on my first zbutbtgen used this fir years too now
It works very well

Car looks very nice, enjoy :driving:

Congratulations, I do love the red :D I think the wider wheels certainly impact the ride, also be interested in your views between the DCT and the ZF gearbox

Beautiful! Enjoy it!

Got to say that I wouldn’t bother with all that soft too conditioning. Really is no need. Just don’t use a jet wash directly on the roof as it does the fabric no good.

Great car Nanu, looks very cool.

Got to agree with Ori, don’t fuss with the roof. Mine is 3 years old now and looks like new, I never pressure wash it. It gets an occasional brush down with a roller lint brush to remove particulates. My cat sometimes sits on the roof leaving ginger hairs behind, easily brushed off :)

It looks absolutely stunning in the San Francisco red, I’m sure you made the right decision getting the G29 altogether it can’t have been easy parting with the 35is.

Have not noticed any difference so far but have only driven on motorways travelling home from London. When I get a chance will put her in sports mode on some twisty stuff and use the paddles and see what happens. It does have a high bar to reach but overall very happy so far.

One thing is noticeable is that it is slightly wider by only a couple of inches which makes it a tight fit getting her into and out of the garage. Will get used to it though

I do notice the extra width of the car too. Especially in London width restrictions!
The handling is a lot better than my previous 35is.
Gearbox doesn’t feel any slower on the gear changes, but I don’t have any figures to compare it to.

One very notable difference noted today when I had the first drive with the top down. It was a lot less wind inside than with the e89 even at speed but no more than 70 mph of course.

I’ve just picked this up - late to the party again!

Congratulations on the new car.

I see they are asking £26k for your “old” car - With that in mind, I ’ve asked them for a valuation on mine.

If it’s the same box as in the 335 then I would say no real difference - other than it changes from reverse to forward without the lag of the DCT ‘box. - hurried three point turns are possible!

Thanks, the "old girl" does look pretty good in their advert. Nice cat for someone on here?

PS. If your in a hurry, two point turns are quicker. :)
