damp in fog lights

Would it be possible to put a film over the front to hide the misting but not to take away the projection of light, it may be a quik fix!!!!!!!

Get yourself some super dark laminx. Job done.

You can also remove them, dry them out fully and stick a few packets of silica gel (somewhere) as an absorbing agent.

They are very easy to remove - 5 minute job. I replaced mine about 2 years ago and still have the corroded set sat in the garage waiting for me to refurbish them! If you leave them too long the silver coating inside corrodes.

There are 3 fixings: a screw at the front and 2 bolts at the rear. The rear is accessible via the access panel after turning the wheel on full lock. There's no need to remove the wheel but if you've got big hands you might find it easier with the wheel off.

I had a similar thing on 206 gti I owned and I read a couple of years ago which I've tried looking the web but can't find but if u drill a little hole in the lens like an air hope it stops it from happening as much. Don't know if this would be a solution for our fog lights but I have the same problem never really thought anything of it till I seen this thread.

Now dry ready to put back, I think it would bd z lot easier just to dry out in location, access psnel off remove bulb holder hair dryer inhole for 10 mins, done im sure thats what every one else does! !!!?

Again, replaced under AUC warranty. No arguments from dealer, agreed with me that they weren't fit for purpose. That was about 18 months ago now and they're still dry even though used as as DD. I was even thinking of removing them and spraying with Scottoiler FS 365, which i use on the m/bike, in an attempt to prevent the corrosion and the consequential condensation

Cheers lads and lasses, well no I didnt reseal them or break them apart because I came to the conclusion that the seal is very good, I found that the bulb seal was more prone to letting anything in then the actual light itself , anyway we all no its a problem and if bmw replace them under warranty then make them pay, taking the other one out tomorrow and both looking as good as new again hopefully
