damp in fog lights

Have just removed and dried mine out then drilled four small holes in them, hoping this cures the issue.

Drilled small holes in the corners of the lenses to encourage air flow. Also drive with fog lights on to use the blub to help dry out the lense.

Cheap fix!

Mine are full of condensation so I'm considering the drilling option. Am I right in thinking that you don't have to remove the unit - that you simply drill into the underside of the lens housing?

Hi Marlon, that's what I did to mine, it did help to dry them but unfortunately they look like they've been on the ocean floor for 75 years :(
I just ignore them now as that's the cheapest fix!

i drilled mine in situ mate.. but tbh it doesn't seem to have made much difference, if we get a dry day this week i may remove them and dry them out properly and see if that helps

to be honest it worked a treat on mine. i still have to use the fog lights to clear them sometimes but before i drilled them nothing would dry them. just be careful when drilling that you don't catch your bodywork with the chuck, use a long bit if you have one.

Worked for me too. Drilled two small holes at an acute angle so they're like little air intakes.

i drilled four holes in each light, dried out with hair dryer and also had the lights on, unfortunately it lasted all of three days, shame as i thought it had worked, looked like new fogs for me as i have decided to keep the car for the summer.

May drill another couple of holes thinking about the previous comment.

I did two at the bottom and one each side 3 or 4mm not sure now, but yes maybe it is the position that is important, i will try another couple tomorrow ,maybe it is the airflow like MrPt suggests.

No pics guys? I need to sort out this issue on my drivers side fog light and could do with a pic to give me an idea of where to drill.

well whaddya know... now its warming up a bit and the drive is not constantly damp, it appears my fog lights are drying out :D
