WELL, currently crude is trading below 80$ a barrel, on a six week low . Now question is , is anyone seeing a drop in prices yet .
I paid yesterday £1.60 a litre for diesel yesterday, anyone convinced to say we are not being utterly ripped off at present .

Yes agree we are being ripped off. Here in the states (I live in Columbia MO) I paid $3.59 a gallon for premium Gas. Which I have to run in all of my cars. And because of state Taxes I have seen that the prices in CA. (California Us) is over $5 premium gallon in some places. IMHO this is all because of the political hacks countries currently in power. Prices of everything is up and I see no sign of stopping. But as we all know even if prices fall they will never get back to were they were. As companies will push prices as high as people will tolerate.

Fuel has gone up here 4p in a week and for the first time I’ve know it rural Argyll is cheaper than Glasgow, never happened in my 30 odd years driving. It been like this since the “petrol shortages” started.

But…….. where I’ve really noticed it is another oil product, heating oil. It has increased from 32.13p + VAT per litre earlier in the year to the 59.55p +VAT it was yesterday. As % increases that’s :censored: disgraceful. Even worse as WFH just now I’m using a lot more bloody heating oil than petrol :headbang:

Our equivalent of your premium is more than double the cost. Equivalent of $7.56 a (US) gallon. :o
Based on £1.48 a litre.

I remember when i bought my first BMW which was a E21 323.... £10 of fuel got you 18.88 litres..

Today...

£40 got me 25.99 litres

Ripping baaastwards.. :headbang:

I read a couple of months back the fuel companies acknowledge the oil prices are coming down but they're refining and especially distribution costs have Increased dramatically due to staff shortages etc, so any lowering of oil is being offset.

Don't shoot me, just the messenger....

Agreed , we’re all being led a merry dance , companies are now finding any excuse to keep the costs high .
I’d love to quote the old saying ‘what goes around comes around !!’ With the advent of electric vehicles . But you just know the same will happen.
Also doesn’t help us whatsoever ….BASTARDS
:fuelfire: Quite apt emoji me thinks

We are all slaves to the rhythm admittedly but it still doesn't compare in any one's book to living in in this s**t.....

Didn’t the Government drop some kind of competition rules for petrol retailers/distributors at the height of the shortages and has this affected pricing?

On another note did anyone else get an email from Amazon stating that from January 22nd they would stop accepting visa credit payments due to the increased transaction charges. One of the things we used to take for granted, transaction fees are regulated and controlled by the EU, our Government decided not to and so now business, especially smaller ones, find their costs have increased and Amazon have decided to say no. I for one don’t really like using Amazon, but for once, I applaud there action.

Unleaded has gone up 5p a litre in the last week at my local Tesco, but luckily I haven't needed any!

I got the same message from Amazon, but I read somewhere that they have some sort of business partnership with Mastercard so that may be a factor? I was amazed they said they would accept AMEX though. Back when I had a Corporate AMEX I lost count of the number of times businesses in the UK refused it, so I had to use my own card and claim the cost back. Maybe it's because Amazon are US-domiciled.

There are reports of Amazon before January are going to offer customers who have Visa credit cards attached to their account, £10 vouchers to switch them to another card. My wife and I have two Amazon accounts each and all now have a Visa credit card which we rarely if ever use attached. :D

You may have missed the boat I'm afraid!

I got that offer in the same e-mail as the one telling me they would be stopping accepting Visa cards on 19 January.

Holy cost Batman!!! Using the price you pay over there it would cost me close to $90 US Dollars to fill up there. Guess even with the current prices here we got it good vs your cost. As for Amazon have not received any news of it over here yet. But just a guess could be they are forcing out other Credit companies to get people to use their card. This way they can make more $ on interest charged.

We all got the same email and as the card that I use for all my Amazon purchases was a Visa card I had to find another so took out Amazon's own Mastercard and got £40 added to my Amazon account.

The credit limit was a derisory £1,200 but as I only intend to use it for Amazon purchases that won't cause me a problem

As my post on the previous page about filling my E90, your wallet would take a bit more of a beating my friend
