COVID reporting

Didn’t realise that if you do a PCR test that is positive, they remove the vaccination record from your NHS app.

My son tested positive a while back and is going abroad in a week’s time, but his record still hasn’t come back.

Not much of an incentive to report your case now when you do a lateral flow if that is the type of aggro you get from doing that. Not surprising that the numbers have gone down, no more PCR and relying on people shopping themselves …

Anyone know how long it takes to get the records back?

When you have a jab you get a card with your name, date and the vaccine used recorded on it

Can't see anyone accepting that as proof of anything - too easy to forge..

Well that’s all my wife and I have

I have two in my wallet (two plus booster). The ink is wearing off both already.

The UK Gov has given up with trying to keep tabs on the virus IMO; it's costing too much money and made no difference.
Give it a month and LFTs will be charged for.
"we've offered you all jabs, now get on with it" seems to be the concensus from the Gov.

You can request an NHS COVID Pass Letter showing your vaccination history. I have one and carry both that and the digital pass on my phone. Both have been accepted when I've travelled abroad.
Yep, the digital pass is more convenient around the UK\EU but the letter is the 'safer' option if travelling further afield as there are places that will only accept a paper document.

"if you do a PCR test that is positive, they remove the vaccination record from your NHS app".
Why is this?

No idea, I was not aware of that until it happened to my son. He wished he had downloaded the latest copy before doing the pcr

Bare in mind you certificate will take up to 5 days to arrive on your doorstep . I was advised not to do a pcr test if possible as it goes on record . Your records can be accessed by numerous third parties , some insurance companies included. And is quite feasible this is used to load up any future insurance you may need , ie life cover etc . As you have now Tod them you’ve had covid , your now considered a future risk .

I had Covid between my 2nd and booster jabs, and all my electronic records are up to date.

My record also shows any positive/negative tests I’ve reported.

Why did you get a booster vaccine for a disease you caught and recovered from?

That sounds a bit like scare mongering and to a certain extent it is. Some insurers will ask if you have had covid within the last 30 days and may postpone the underwriting of a policy until the 30 day period has passed.

I have almost certainly had covid as I lost my sense of taste for a couple of days two years ago but at the time it wasn't considered to be a symptom and there are millions who have caught the virus but remained asymptomatic so the insurance companies may as well load everyone's policies

That’s nonsense, the UK law won’t allow that. Possibly in the U.S. but definitely not the UK.
