Considering 3.0 z4

Hello

I've currently found myself looking at 2003/2004 z4's and I'm hoping to buy one in the near future once my car is sold

Thought I'd just introduce myself and say hi.

I currently have a renaultsport Clio 182 but once that's gone I'll be looking at z4's.

Can someone clarify the servicing costs both at BMW and from a local dependent garage?

Thank you - and I must say looking in the gallery has certainly helped sway my decision

Rich

Welcome and good luck in your search.Bmw servicing is more expensive .There are lots of good indies around which will be cheaper. At 7 to 8 years old you might think the full BMW stamps not necessary. If the indies use genuine bmw parts, which most do it will probably save you alot of money on repairs and servicing.

Welcome to the forum :)

If the car's a keeper, you could always service yourself?

As mine is 8 odd years old now I think I will service/maintain it. Took it to BMW last time and I think an oil service was in the region of £400?

a big step up in quality from the renault & servicewise i doubt any more costly , if anything less so .
oil+filter service no more than £100 & discs & pads approx £250 all 4 / / / indy rates !
click on http://www.eurocarparts.com/ then fill in details for chosen engine/yr , , then have a look through parts in general ,
should give you an idea of costs for parts if needed
happy searching & feel free to link any possibles

Thank you all for the kind welcome and I appreciate your help.

Im hoping to get a test drive sorted soon but think my heart is set on a 3.0 z4.

Lots of useful stuff for me to read :)

I had a look the other day yes. Also been looking on pistonheads and autotrader.

I prefer finding a car on the owners forum if one comes up.

I really like the z4 in silver and the grey colour.

Thank you - I hope so :)

Total newbie here, both from forum and owner's standpoint. Just chiming in to say I love my 3.0.

Hi and welcome along.

I havent found servicing too bad, if buying one check to see if the next is a service or an inspection.

Not experianced one yet, but apparenty the inspection 2 is costly.

Well just thought i'd update this.

My car is up for sale as of this weekend and have arranged a viewing with someone locally so hoping he takes it.

I'm going to have a test drive of a z4 this weekend hopefully.

Once my car is gone i'll be doing my best to find the perfect z4 on here - hoping my test drive goes well as I love everything else about the z4 just haven't driven one yet.

Great choice had mine about a month and love it so very much. Great performance its even fairly economical. Mine is a keeper for life and i know (just about) witch way round to hold my metric adjustable spanner. And my glass hammer so will be doing my own servicing. What to loose!!!

Cant recommend these cars enough i came from a quick ish fiesta so you should be equally as impressed. You don't have to thrash a 3.0 straight 6 the power is always there waiting and willing  :driving:
