Jobs worth considering if removing the door cards

Are there any jobs/preventative maintenance/upgrades worth considering if I'm taking the door cards off? Tips/tricks/lessons learned for taking the door cards off would also be of interest.

The trifecta is back. Again. Condensation is showing on the windows, and the drivers side footwell is damp, so I'm going to inspect/replace the membrane in the hope that it is the culprit. I might as well get the most out of the time that they are removed.

So far I have the following:

- Inspect and replace the membrane
- Speaker change & Sound deadening
Recommendations on replacement speakers most welcome - I have the poverty spec audio setup. Bavsound are under consideration due to supposed ease of fitment, but pricey.

Not a lot in there that you can check. Membrane is likely to be the issue- the project Z Iโ€™m doing at the moment had the same issue. In terms of taking off- relatively simple but I would suggest using trim removal tools

Having replaced my window mechanism over the weekend I found that although there is a speaker grill in the door it's blanked off and nothing there. How cheap and nasty of BMW. Luckily I don't listen to it so doesn't matter, just irritating.

Donโ€™t just wrench the tweeter off. You need to pull it out at the top lug, then push it upwards to disengage the lower lug from its key slot. If you try to pull it straight off youโ€™ll snap the lower lug.

I always add sound deadening

Cheap from Amazon makes your door closing sound much better

I wondered where that little piece of plastic came from

I guess with this stuff, you simply cut it to size and stick it to the inner skin of the door?

Yes thats it . See here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1501241#p1501241
