Thankyou, prices are going skyward, there are some optimistic people out there but £25-£30K should get a cracker, Quentin Wilson said a few years ago on the Classic Show he did, they were £10K, they’re now £25K buy one now whilst you can, they will be £50K, mark my words, here’s hoping
It’s a long way from when I sold my original one in 2000 for £6750, it won best restored at the Autoglym Concours for 2 years running, it recently sold, restored as a Works Rally Rep for £40K

My son bought a 1995 mk2 MR2 last year. It sat on our drive while he was at university and I gave it the occasional run around until I had a front spring snap on me so I decided to sort it for him ready for the MOT. Having only had it a year with very little history - and knowing he wanted to keep it for a while I made good as I went round the car. By the time I gave up I had only changed front springs; shocks; strut tubes; top mounts; rear shocks; springs; all the ball joints; changed all the bushes for polybushes. Shotblasted all the suspension arms and rear suspension strut tubes and replaced the rear cross struts. He stripped all the brakes - painted callipers; new seals and even new bearings in the handbrake mechanism (let me take the old ones out - what a pain in the ar$e!). Changed the electric window mechanism and patched a sill. It even threw the ancillary drive belt on the way for its test so we had to change that and did the cam belt for good measure. Then had to put a service pack on it to meet the emission test.
Thing is he says it drives really well now (it wasn't too bad before if a little soft) but I haven't managed to get my hands on it. Bu**er is I paid for the parts!

Was hoping to get on with mine this year but the MR2 got ahead in the queue. The shell is sat on pallet racking so I can park the Caterham under it and the rest is in boxes - next year maybe!

Anything from £4000to £12000. Mines worth something like £7-8000. Mechanically it’s fantastic no rust issues and decent paint. Could use a little cosmetic tweaking to bring up to top dollar though.

It’s funny how cars fall out of favour and then come back, almost every car goes through that phase, even my mk1 fiesta looks appealing now
