What plant Harry?

I want to restore an old 3D before I’m done, loved watching these as a lil boy.

Ohh .. I've been tempted. There was one a couple of villages over from us earlier this year but I daren't bring anything else big home at the moment. Got this little chap at the start of summer to collect sand and gravel.

I can see the quarry gates from the house and I'm sick of paying through the nose for delivery - particularly when I can get there on farm tracks without touching the roads. Need to have the steering box apart though. A previous owner has tried to cure the indistinct steering by tightening the pressure on the worm gear so it still wanders but you have to be a body builder to correct it.

Nice RR! Those old Rolls Royce's have a far smoother engine than you imagine a car that age would have, and apart from the size of them are not bad to drive in a sedately manner.

A car very much of its time. What shocked me when I first drove it was how small the 'under classes' must have been. I'm only 5'8" and I'm a little short of arm and leg room driving - the back however!

Yep, the peasants didn't matter. Boggled me that they produces a body with no weather protection for the driver, but the VIPS's in the back where in abject luxury! A world far away from today - I am pleased to say!

1972 MG Midget just sold it earlier in the year and bought the Z4 as a play thing, at least the wife will use the Z4 on sunny days the midget never got used apparently it breaks finger nails when putting manual hood up or down

I love the idea of a classic car. I had a Spitfire 1500 in the late 70's and have a half-baked idea to get another one to keep me occupied when I retire.

However, I have a real concern that I would never drive it. Despite being a child of the 50's I have become very used to the features we take for granted on modern cars - everything from electric windows, air conditioning, ABS etc etc not to mention performance. If it was a warm sunny day would I choose the Spitfire over the Z4M Roadster? To be honest I cannot think of one reason to choose the Spitfire.

However, I am in awe of the passion and work that some people put into classic cars and really enjoy looking at other peoples' cars. Some great examples in this thread.
