Christmas cheer

That sucks Tom - sorry to hear, defo an insurance job

I didn't think that you could get wing mirrors off without opening the car, but I guess if you only want the mirror and not the mounting then you just unscrew them ? Can't remember if you can get the Zs off from the outside.

Sorry to hear that Tom. Just a thought - try Jamie @ Sopers for a price to supply as a comparison to what your local dealer has quoted you.

What a bunch of gits :headbang:
Thieving scum.

Love the post from Darren though
would love to do that to these kind of ppl(and those who vandalised my z)

I'd be concerned that the same thing will happen again. Maybe ring bmw customer services and ask how they found them so easy to remove from outside.

have you considered spending £17k on a garage

Thanks guys.

We have two garages the Z has one and dads Porsche has the other so the mini sits on the street unfortunately. Its a vic terrace so the garages are up the street. But the car sits under a lamppost so it is in plain sight. But when it is 3am who will see?

Ye the insurance company have sorted it out now its going down to Preston as is there preferred repairer, which is ridiculous. But nm.

I will ring BMW to find out how they did it because if they are £900 and you can just unscrew them its just stupid! They did well not to set off the alarm taking them out.

Ye I bought the Mini Cs a week before I got the Z.

Feel for you. Just what makes some people think it's ok to do things like that when the rest of us wouldn't dream of doing such a thing :headbang:

Well thats it there is no crime in my area at all its a band A. Only one incident in my memory, which was drunk kids so...

Bit gutted but nothing you can do. Its being picked up on thurs to be sorted should be back next week

I've worked on a few minis and they are so easy to remove from the outside of the car . Wouldn't mind but every thing else is a nightmare to work on . So sorry to hear that

Locktite.

But then you get body damage as they get frustrated.

Better to leave as is and hope rare-crime-area-stat lightning doesn't strike twice.

Ye but if it means they have to make an effort they may just miss it, or if they make a noise pretty busy street... More likely to get spooked or anything to try and stop it lol!

Sadly, they know they'll be replaced and will often return to collect the new ones.

You can make the car with magic water which will help prove parts are stolen bit not much comfort after the fact
