CF roundels - opinion

I did the whole set on mine, the hardest ones to get hold of were the bonnet badge and wheel centres for CSL rims, everyone on ebay etc seems to think the front and rear are the same size just like the E46 but of course they're not. I think they look good though and worth the effort to track them down.

Wasn't sure about most of the ones on ebay. Was surprised to find that the ones which came on the car were just stickers so have deteriorated quite badly now.
I had to buy a new set of CSL centre caps and have domed Alpina adhesive centres made to size to fit them. The boot badge and sides were easy enough. Basically I got three boot badges and bought new clear side indicators, I drilled new holes in the indicators to match the pins on the boot badges and used a strong adhesive rather than tape to secure them. The bonnet badge was a nightmare but eventually I tracked one down. I'll have to check back to see where I got it from though.
Yeah I just ordered rear badges to fit the sides - was going to chop the pins from what I read on here but drilling some holes in the indicator would be a better solution. Where did you get clear side indicators? Not managed to track any of them down. Others seem to have managed to fit the 73mm ok to the front but a proper 70mm badge would of course be better. Did you use a silicone adhesive? Just needed for the sides or all badges?

Remove the tape and then bond them on with a couple of decent dabs of clear (or white) silicone sealant. Tape them in position for a couple of hours until set then they'll never move again
so u mean i just apply a silicone sealant on the badges and stick them without adding anything else !? so no double sided tapes or anything ?!!
No double sided tape used. Silicone makes a very effective flexible, rot proof and adjustable adhesive. Should the need arise to remove it can easily be cut off.
Comments on some of the things I see in this post:
I would not drill the side lenses due to the risk of water ingress.
Clear lenses are available from many suppliers inc. BMW
73mm hood roundel works perfectly - you just shave the rear of it down on both sides and it drops in perfectly
Wheel inserts - there are 2 sorts - cheap stickers and shaped alloy. Thsi I purchases are dome and have clear resin tops. Even OEM corrode after a couple of years.
This I referenced that were recommended to me on Ebay are excellent and many members on ebay use his products. (Ian Clifton - see above) He will exchange or refund on any badge you don't like and his cf are very good.

I have to say that after 18 months of fitting the side indicator badges I have had no problems with water ingress. I drilled the holes small enough that the pins were a press fit into them plus the adhesive I used makes a perfect seal should there have been any imperfections. I guess that if you take your time and do it properly it'll be fine.

Curtis - I agree with you that it should be fine, but I know you take care with engineering and have a level of skill. For the majority it's probably easier to simply stick them on than attempting to accurately drill holes to align/match the pins. I've fallen into the trap to many times of suggesting something is easy so err on the side of caution assuming limited tools, facilities, time and in some cases skill on tasks (of course all posters in the thread excepted...lol)

For sure - my neighbour asked me if he could borrow a drill so I duly lent him one (normally against my better judgement to lend tools, but hey a neighbour). An hour later he told me he needed to get his bumper resprayed. Seems he decided not to pay the garage to fit his new number plate. He did not match holes on the new one to the old one, then decided to drill new holes in the bumper rather than scrap the plate. End result - a nice drill slide mark across the bumper as the tip slipped off while trying to start the drill, no tape, no dot mark, no pilot hole, etc. ('hello' what planet are we on....?)
Bless!! Ok, the new rule should be. If that sounds like you trying to fit a number plate then don't try to drill the side indicators to fit the badges! Instead just use glue or double sided tape but don't eat the glue, it might be poisonous and try not to stick your fingers to the badge or the indicator because you'll look really silly and everyone will laugh at you. 
they do look quite nice but I personally prefer the original OEM look... Also careful of the chaves they will try to nick the fancy CF badges!
All the best on it tho I think it is nice but the final decision if down to your personal taste in terms of what you are looking for.. OEM style look or After Market personalisation?
