CF roundels - opinion

I have to say, my original thought was be against the carbon fiber. Just so used to the standard BMW roundel color I guess. But then looking at them on a car instead of just the roundel....WOW! They look fantastic!!! great...now I have to add that to my mod list ;-)

On fitting the weave actually does add a depth to the roundel Vs plain colours.
Aebous. They are all complete replacements. They appear to be made from a moulded silvered plastic base (actually has BMW stamped on it??), then the cf and various edgings laid in. The entire badge face is then coated in a domed slightly soft resin/gel. I'm a cynic with anything like this and was impressed by the quality.

i have a set of jet black overlays coming in soon. Went for plain black over CF personally

How will overlays work? I can see them going into the wheel centres which are failrly flat and lock them into plastic mouldings, but how will they adopt the curved shape of the 4 main badges and create a neat finish on the edges? Won't they look like decals stuck on top of badges rather than 3 dimensional clear covered badges? Am I missing something here?
inTgr8r you echo my concerns over the idea of decals. I'm being polite and in open minded mode, but struggle to see how 'stickers' have a place on the exterior of such an expensive car.
Having now had them on the car for a few days I'm really satisfied. The look is truly first rate. Even my wife who has a keen eye for contemporary design features commented that the blue and white looked 'dated' when we parked next to a new 5 series.

The overlays are computer cut vinyl "stickers" that are very very thin. They dont go over the entire roundel but instead are cut to perfectly cover the blue / white fourths of the roundel. My friend has had a set on his car for 4 years now through multiple washes and all that jazz. The overlays are so thin that they are nearly invisible. For 15$ I'm willing to give it a shot, I'll get some photos later on when they come in.
i just bought 2 badges for the side 82 when i took the oem badge from the side it's totally different first the badge have holes and the side base have pins !!
but the badge i bought have pins not holes !! what should i do break the pins on the badge and the pins on the base and stick it with double sided tape ?!!

IIRC the side ones have pins that need cutting off. Fix on with silicone or double sided tape.
The bonnet/hood has pins but not long enough to use the nuts to fix so I used silicone to bond it on. Note - you will need to grind the sides shoulders on the rear to get a good fit.

i installed all the badges on my car but i had 1 problem, the side badges, i put double sided tape on it but thank god after few days i noticed that one of the badges was not in it's proper position, where it slides downward i think from the heat coz it's hot out here.
so know what should i do my car now is without side badges it look ugly

Remove the tape and then bond them on with a couple of decent dabs of clear (or white) silicone sealant. Tape them in position for a couple of hours until set then they'll never move again

ian5718 is the buyer's address on ebay. I bought my side and steering Alpina badges from him and they look great. The logo on my roundels are even embossed to the touch...very nice quality.
