Central locking issue with drivers door lock

Hi all,

I recently noticed that the central cubby holder wouldnt open, and from reading the forums I found out that this is linked to the central locking. So I took off the centre console and found that the little lock mechanism had stopped working in the locked position. So I need to replace that, and fingers crossed it should be straight forward.

But I have now seem to have an issue with the drivers door. The keyfob will lock the car fine including drivers door, but when I unlock with the keyfob it doesnt always unlock the drivers door, but sometimes it will. If I use the key the drivers door it unlocks fine and locks fine aswell.

So reading the forums I am unsure if this could be the GM5 unit or the door lock actuator or..........something completely different!

Any advice is greatful.

Yes it could be a number of things, it would take some troubleshooting to know for sure. Given the intermittent nature of the fault, it is most likely (but not for sure) a fault in the GM5 relays. There is a UK service that replaces the relays, sparing you the cost of a replacement module. You should find a reference by searching this forum.
