Possible central locking issue?

It could be as simple and esoteric as a corroded / badly mated connector…

Those signalling circuits hardly carry any current so dodgy connections are even more perplexing :tumbleweed:

Here’s hoping

Very true, nothing obvious but at least I've learned its related to passenger door wiring and not the FRM.

did you order the actuator for yours?

Reckon I could change one in 20 mins now from start to finish if you needed any pointers. Hardest part is removing the screw cap in the door pocket

I’ve had the 35is in various garages slowly having the extensive mod / upgrade program and I don’t (yet) have a garage so leaving it till I have time and space or it gets worse…

I had problem with windows stuck down.
Door card off. Unplug window switches and spray clean contacts. Re-plug and cable tie to make sure it never moved again. No problems 5 years on.

I do read more posts than I contribute, your build threads are impressive but looks bloody expensive. :driving:

It's good to know the art of the possible and I'll bear in mind if I need to replace bits like the active suspension or turbo's if or when they are needed

My garage is full of junk so working on car is limited and the actuator change completed when the weather forecast permits and on the drive.

I'm sure you have the ability, just a couple of pointers to make life easy like removing the exterior handle Bowden cable after removing the 3 torx in the aperture where membrane is pulled back and replacing before refitting. Sooo much easier.

Didn't have any contact cleaner but will bear that in mind if the fault returns

Thanks for the advice..as and when I attach the door handle I’ll re-read your journey and if needed reach out for tech help

One of the reasons I hung back from the N54 E89s was I wasn’t in a situation a few years ago to spend much cash on upgrades etc.

Then things got progressively better and then in the end I had sufficient cash to buy 3 M40i s

However the G29 doesn’t float my boat, so I took the plunge on a 35is..in the full knowledge that for me I was buying into a platform that I could work on / play with …but not the end goal in itself..

As expected many of the classical N54 E89 issues have arisen, disappointing but hardly surprising.

So yes spent a load of cash and yet to see the rewards…trying to get slots with competent people to get things plus shipping delays is frustrating..

Drove the 20i for quite a few miles last weekend and was struck at how good it was. :driving:

Hopefully we will get there…maybe a bit more de-bugging and R&D will be required :tumbleweed:

Good to hear you're in a good place financially and have the desire and passion for getting the best out of yours.

Last year I finished renovating an house, that cost me a couple of M40i's and a lot more than I planned but that's how it goes.

340bhp is enough for me right now and still loving it, in fact the last 12 months have been joyous but nervous with mine, seem to be waiting for the next thing to fix :headbang: Great platform here though and it pays to understand the foibles of these cars gaining the knowledge to understand the fixes when needed.

Day 5 trip to work and still no locking issues :D

For sure 300 BHP plus 450 nm of torque is more than adequate  :driving:

Being me I just can’t resist tweaking my toys..I’d save a lot of money if I didn’t :tumbleweed:
