maxman said:Not to bad an outcome as some drivers who get caught doing over 100 mph in N.Wales get fined 2k plus.
Where in Wales did you get caught.?
Nictrix said:If it was Scotland, you would have got an automatic ban.

Its what you used to hear, over 100mph or double the speed limit was an automatic ban.Angie4m said:Nictrix said:If it was Scotland, you would have got an automatic ban.
No you don't. You get a court summons and it's there they decide if you get a ban or not.
The only automatic ban you get is for Drink Driving and then sometimes people don't even get that if their case is argued strongly enough.
And just incase yoy maybe missed it one of our own forum members for doing 101mph on the M8 and is still driving.

The 435d has a warning gong you can set to remind you when you should slow down.ronk said:My wife's new 335 has a speed limiter - it's a case of get to the limit and hit the button - I a bit of a pit lane gizmo. Unlike the cruise control, downhill runs aren't controlled.
I try to use it whenever I can. The only trouble is that the button is very close to Resume button on the cruise. The system had previously been set to 70 mph and as I slowed to 30 and wanted to hit the Lmit button, I hit resume ! The car accelerated over the 30 limit just before a camera!
I was lucky - no ticket .
I find my driving style renders the speed limiter uselessronk said:The speed limiter is good - you can override it if needs be by a good squeeze of the throttle !
