Have to admit i haven't been overly impressed with the F1 Asym's i have on the MC. Don't get me wrong they are a decent tyre compared to a lot of the crap out there, but in comparison the the Conti Sport Contact 5's i used on my old stripped out track/daily i was bumming around in, they don't feel to have as good wet grip. Only problem with the Conti's is they wear very quickly.
 
Am i the only one who seems to have a big grin on my face with the early morning twitch? Didn't really happen as much in my old 3.0 but i've noticed over the last few days in the //M before the tyres warm up it gets very twitchy and my dashboard lights up like an xmas tree. Makes the drive to work even more fun in the monring :D :driving:

I needed a sensible daily driver as my 320d was getting a little long in the tooth :lol: It's Silverstone Grey with matching hardtop / black ragtop. LSD, no driver's aids and 240bhp revving out to 9000rpm...it's lots of fun and really rewarding to drive. It's almost a comfortable car compared with my ///M and Westy.
I had been holding out for a Z3MC but the prices are getting to be higher than I can justify spending, so I thought I try life with a roadster. I'm not quite ready to admit that cold crisp days with the roof down are pretty special 8)

Shall do señor Bing, although I'm working in London again now (rather than commuting out into darkest Kent each day) hence swapping the diesel for an inefficient screamer. I'm rarely to be found crossing Blackheath or using the A2 these days, so our paths may not cross for a while.

Good thread :D I did buy my E85 for a bit of light fun in the winter as well as enjoying the sun on summer days. Had an Audi S8 V10 before the E85, and I'll say it... quattro is unbeatable! I sailed past many 4x4s on the roads a couple of winters ago when it was bad in Essex. There was something quiet elegant about big 4wd donuts in a big, snowy car park! :evil:

Also had a brief fling with an Abarth 500 for a few months last year when I was living in Manchester for work and that wasn't too bad on roads at sub-zero temps! But this will be my first winter with a BMW.
 
I must admit, I had to drive my 3.0si in the snow , and it did really well! Got me along some ridiculous roads when I didn't have much of a choice (and my daily was off the road). It was the first nice car I've owned so I was driving as carefully as possible avoiding getting stuck, rather than having fun!

Anyway, in a vain attempt to drag this thread [screaming] back on topic :)

the consensus of opinion is that a RWD Z4 is interesting to drive when cold - but over all it is......
