Glad you're in one piece. A bit of a dramatic way to get out of fixing the leak!

Haha made me laugh, maybe I'll get them to fix the leak if they repair it.

Ouch! Bet you were a bit shaken up after that?

Main thing is that you're OK - hope there's not too much trouble with the insurance Co. getting everything sorted

Mm surprisingly cool when it happened. Was a bit surprised how uninterested the police were when on scene, no breath tests or anything. Admiral seem to be pretty good so far, taking it to bmw for damage quoting and repair as I requested.

Don't intend to disclose how it happened

Strange. I hope no alcohol was involved?

Didn't want to openly discuss while a claim is still in process. As ruby kindly pointed out I do not drink at all really, I've had three shots in the past four years and that is it.

WTF happened there Disca?! Glad youre ok but the Zed looks like toast.
Hope you manage to sort things out. Alpina time maybe?

Shall cross the bridge of another car if I need too at the time, if I had my way I will probably move to a 3.0si if the chance arises however that's down to settlement payments etc and how much my insurance is affected by. At 22 it will still be quite volatile I expect.

My other souvenir from the accident, woo BBC news:

Everyone involved was fine.

Sorry to hear that, Disca, but glad you're ok.

Hope its not a right off, if the airbags didn't deploy then couldn't have been too hard an impact...

Not always true - I rolled a car which burst all 4 tyres, broke the suspension and slammed the engine through the bonnet, before the car slammed into a side bank, breaking headlights and front bumper/radiator etc. Total write off and no airbags deployed.

What was it a 2CV? :?

Seeing as Tim got a complete reaming in the wading depth thread for antagonising you, I think it's only fair to ask that you don't push this thread in the same direction Carol.

Disca, sorry to see your accident and glad you're OK.

I'd print the travel news incident report off and put it in a scrap book

Hope insurers aren't too hard come renewal time.

Steven, I've not got the inclination to explain myself but I will point out that for a long time Tim has taken every opportunity to be antagonistic towards me as many regulars on this forum know, and we had both agreed to ignore each other, BOTH agreed.
As you pointed out, in the Wading Depth thread he declined to do that yet again and I retaliated as he had, as he always does, found himself unable to keep his mouth shut where I am concerned, so maybe he can now have a taste of his own medicine.
I didn't see you commenting to him to stop being antagonistic towards me at any point.

Anyway it really doesn't matter as he says he has blocked my posts so he can't see what I am writing anyway so happiness in Tim's world will be maintained so you don't need to stick up for him.

Disca, hope everything is going ok.

Nope - was a Toyota Celica, latest version...

Sad new buddy. But like the others and you have said. Your ok cars come and go.

Will you be looking for another zed?

Depends on what insurance is like + affordability.

Didn't think of this at the time! But who'd want a coupe anyway :poke:

Thanks Steven, my earlier comment re 2CV was a pun :)

I don't see Carols postings as she is on my ignore and hope she will see sense and do the same for me and move on.

I will leave it to others to muse over the F*ck off, pig etc comments levied at me in the wading depth thread. We don't always necessarilly agree with each other but it was out of order.

Back on topic.

Regards,

Tim.

Nasty accident, at least you can talk about it afterwards. It may be a harsh lesson now but it might help you in the long term from a safety point of view (defensive driving etc).

This is a really good point. I used to ride a lot of motorbikes and had a few non-serious crashes or near misses due to my own stupid fault or somebody else's. Resets your approach each time and makes you think. Better to have lots of smaller close calls than one, big nasty one.
