Can't be ar$ed anymore... New Car Ordered.

Looks a gorgeous dashboard & 49.6 mpg that beats my 47.8 mpg i get in the 520d! & yours will get better on economy once the engine loosens up a bit.

Glad you are enjoying it & i bet its nice place to sit & eat the miles away.

Enjoy running it in. :)

I do like the looks of the Audi's. But I do not care for a highend car that uses FWD.

We bought our used 2008 328i in 2010 for the wife from a BMW military sales specialist dealer (pentagon car sales) here in Germany. Our salesman Stuart (British chap) was stellar. He went through EVERYTHING. To include all the different areas in the i-drive system. Helped with the initial setup of the i-drive to show kilometers for speed and distance, Yet retaining the MPG economy readout. All in all he spent about 45 minutes going over the car with me. And that was a fully spec'd 2008 with 12k miles on it 1 year warranty priced at 15,000 quid.

I have to be honest I too was a little unsure about the FWD thing as my last 4 cars have been BMWs and the one before that was an Audi Quattro, but I have to say that I am very impressed. Its hard to tell in every day driving that its front wheel drive. There is no torque steer and the wheels very rarerly flicker the ESP light.. It has some electronic wizadry diff lock tthat immitates an LSD apparentley and it appears to work quite well. Obviously its not an LSD but it seems to limit wheel spin.

Also the bonus is I wont get stranded this year when we get a big dump of the white stuff

Had a bit of a play about with the new toy this weekend. Not much time mind as were still up to the neck in DIY and decorating with recently moving house.

Spent a couple of hours on Saturday de-badging the car (took the S-Line badges of the wings and the A6 and the TDI off the rear boot lid. Looks much better for it IMO. Also gave it a quick once over with my new wash mitt and drying towel.. God it takes ages to wash it

Anyway, I've attached a few better pics of the bus below for anyone who's interested.

You two - get a room in the Audi forum :bonk: :D

Looks great JDM - I do get in my wife's car and want a new family wagon with shinier toys :driving:

Sorry Bing

Thank you.. It is a very nice place to be. Completely different to the zed as you can imagine..

My plan is to hopefully get a toy to keep in the garage a few years down the line when we have finished the house and wedding to get my weekend fix although come then Im pretty sure kids will be on the cards so it proabably wont happen for another 20 years...

I got away with a Z the first time round when WB was 7, not so long

And hey, you might design Building of The Century, get paid a mahoosive wedge of cash and have 4 cars plus a golf cart to bimble around your estate

Good luck with the Audi. A buddy had a top spec A4 Tdi and it was the most unreliable POS he'd ever had.Got rid and never went back.Happy with an old Peugeot and his fleet of Ducati's to take him to work.

Car looks nice JDM, although I'd have thought you'd have gone for another sports car?

sorry if you've answered that question before?

Hi Kryton, good to see you back on here..

Well after the amount of problems and the experience with BMW as a whole I had decided to move away from the brand..

I thought long and hard about a replacement. If I was signing up for another 3/4 year deal then I wanted something that would meet my needs over that four year period.

I am doing alot more mileage around the country with work at the minute, sitting on motorways for hours at a time and as nice as the sports cars are they dont do a great job of getting you there and back feeling refreshed. Also with the wedding taking place next year you can bet that little JDM's wont be too far in the distance. A bigger car was making more sense, especially as the Fiancee has just ordered a new mini, which might aswell be a two seater.

My long term plan once we have finished throwing money at the new house and the wedding is to get a toy to keep in the garage. Something to put a smile on my face on sunny days. Maybe a Z3M roadster, maybe an older TVR, maybe even something like a Westfield. Guess I will just have to see what happens over time..

For now though I am very happy with the new choice. Very relaxing and it smells fantastic inside.... just needs a set of 20" RS6 wheels on it..... God ive started already :headbang:

Looks awesome JDM, and I have to say you really cant get better than an Audi interior. Even when just test driving a few things back in the spring I could not fault the service I got from the Audi garage, much more professional and upmarket than the 21 year old oik in the local BMW dealer!
