There is Scotland, England and Northern Irelands flags built into it but there doesnt seem to be any green for the Welsh flag.

East six - I appreciate from your perspective everything you say - it will be disruptive and expensive and there will be down sides to Scottish independence as well as positives for Scots and others
But you are kidding yourself if you think that this Scottish feeling for the want for independence is a flash in the pan - come on - it's been a part of general discussion and desire for me and many of my friends and colleagues for the best part of my entire life - what do English people not understand about this? It's the desire of a nation to take control and make it's own decisions .
There is a massive anti- nuclear feeling in Scotland - and I also beleive in rest of GB too - it's only a means to get us a seat at the NATO top table - it has no military use whatsoever in our modern world - it is a weapon from the dark ages why would anyone want to keep it - if you really care about the British economy then get rid and save a bob or two here.
Bottom line - whatever the result the world will carry on and we will all get on with our lives as before - I just look forward like a lot of my Scottish family to the challenge of developing our country the way we would like it to develop - not someone else's idea of where it should go.
And incidentally I would be prepared to be a lot poorer for the freedom too!

Unlike many I don't have a great feeling of Nationality. I am a military brat and as such have lived all over the world, I can not stand boarder squabbles and nationalistic fervor that we hear about in the news. We are only here for three score and ten and dead for a very long time, lets party.

Unless I'm missing something, surely if Scotland breaks from the UK then the remaining parts will have significant changes to taxation etc therefore affecting us all quite directly.

My partner said that last night inkey - it's an interesting one really isn't it - if i can get enough people on my road to want independence from the UK, and then we call a vote of ourselves - and vote Yes, do we then get it?
Salmond would never call for a vote involving people he can't pursuade. I imagine it's hard to see past the 'good for Scotland' discussion if that means you're to benefit - whereas us south of the border think "ok, good for Scotland .. who else is to benefit here? oh... you.."
To be honest we should have an referendum on increasing English powers - i don't understand why we don't have our own policies when Wales and Scotland get to decide how much of our taxes get spent on their population. Free University for English kids please, paid for by all of the UK, and i'd like a rebate.

RBS (The Royal Bank of SCOTLAND) says it will re-locate to London if the Yes vote wins.

Yeah, and as with most things - people who outwardly believe in something (and therefore care about it) are more likely to make the effort to vote for it, rather than people who arent interested .. who just wont. There should be a voting system where people are forced to decide, A or B.
Some things that intrigue that I haven't seen addressed should independence be won are:
Totally new passports for the Scots?
If not automatically in the EU, work permits required in UK.?
Border posts set up?
Where do the Scottish Ryder Cup members stand?
Too many issues for me, but if that's what they want, good luck.
