Bought a hardtop

Since my Zed is outside all year round and is also about to become our DD I thought I'd better invest in a hardtop.
I wanted a gloss black (Sapphire Black) hardtop, but they are few and far between. So I was also looking at sliver with a view to respraying or wrapping.

Been looking on eBay and the forum for a while and after missing out on a black one on eBay last week I saw another one on eBay in Poole Dorset. With couple of hours to go on the advert I entered my 'Best Offer' and won it :D
It comes with a stand, the original storage cover, and the locking mechanism covers.

We are off to the south coast today to collect it.

Its off a Bright Red Zed, so I know its going to look the business :)

Enjoy the drive down to get it. :)

Thanks, we have booked into a Holiday Inn tonight to make it a more relaxing journey - forecast is lots of rain so I hope its holds off long enough so we can swap the top.

Glad you found one! Black on red does look good!

Thought I had a long drive to pick mine up from south wales but you definitely beat me with that trip

How are you getting the stand home? :?

They come apart, but it still may not fit in the boot with our overnight case - if so then the seller will post it and I will cover the cost

What did you end up paying?

£950 (bearing in mind black ones are like hen's teeth - even the silver ones are going for £800 - £950 on eBay and I'd have to add the cost of the spray/wrap to that, the price was worth it to me).

Black over red a killer combo, it'll look spiffing.
Cheers John I love the colour combo. Journey down is slow - not passed Birmingham yet! Just stopped for a coffee and bathroom break. Heavy rain slowing traffic with some minor accidents too.

it's sure gonna feel strange - a coupeeee :? :D

make such a difference inside the car, so much quieter, you will need some black details on the car like above to tie it all in, but once done it will look ACE... BSM HTs have become Very sought after since everyone started realising black works on pretty much any colour, so if anyones got a mint BSM top... its worth a few bob with all the bits, mines so so so clean i really should sell it but ant part with it... their cant be many left in its condition tbh.

That is going to look awesome on your car,

The swap over takes like seconds to do so don't worry too much about the rain, unless its lashing down.
Remember to take your lock mech covers off before you get there, it saves faffing around.

I remember when i picked up mine it seemed really odd at first, enjoy the drive.

Welcome to the exclusive hardtop club lol

You mean the proper z4 coupe club :poke:

Mine only goes on in the winter but I wouldn't have a Z (or any other convertible) without it as an option was something I made sure I checked before I bought my Z that I could get one
