Only thing I can think that may potentially be an issue is the clutch. But you'll soon find that out when it's installed😁

Seems like Mack was right
Looking forward to pics/video when its back up and running  :driving:

Yep.. 130k clutch was never going to go well. I did anticipate it'd go very quickly or put up and shut up forever.

An added bonus is I get to do the prop shaft coupling when I do the DMF and exhaust has to come off anyway. It's pretty shagged at present. May give me an extra 0.1s on the 0-70 traffic light GP. 8)

Didn’t fancy a single mass and lightweight flywheel really makes the engine come alive

Glad your happy with it and it’s all in and running. Shame about the clutch but as you say after 130k miles and the extra power it’s no great surprise!
Well done that man

Not sure if it fits with the e85 setup but could you not use the slightly bigger 240mm clutch from the e46/e53 instead of the circa 225mm zed jobbie. Might help with that extra umph.

well done, i can imagine its suitable ballistic !!

i would LOVE to see some runs against the Fiesta, any possibility to make that happen??

and wheres the sexy engine bay pics!!!!????!!!???

Please put some videos of your car up vs your mate’s Golf R, once your new clutch and DMF are installed.

I’m intrigued to see how it pulls.

So... its on and running.

It's / was a lot faster...

Outdone a 17 plate Golf R. Which is what was I aiming for.

It ate the clutch. Just goes into gear and pops back out and stalls now.

Clutch and...unfortunately DMF ordered.

Fun to be had again soon.

Highly recommended to any 2.5 owners and I'm sure 3.0s are pretty ballistic with this kit.

It's not fun to fit and will bring tears of agony followed by joy.

Advice for anyone seriously thinking of doing it.. just strip the front off as much as can be done, all ancillary items the lot.

Once the clutch is in hopefully this weekend will make a video of it up against my friends Golf R 310PS.

Good effort!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if the gearbox ‘pops out of gear’ as you suggest above, then you’ve buggered a synchroniser in the gearbox and a new clutch is not going to fix that....hope you have a spare gearbox lying around!

Once the fiesta gets into 3rd gear and up it'd out pace it easy. 3rd -6th are far far longer gears (3rd gear on fiesta tops at 95mph with the increased limiter and goes on to pull up to 150 before it hits the limiter in 6th)

Shame the z has the 5 speed box. 1st gear is far too short on it and you lose a lot of time on the gear change.

I did think if going single mass but at the slightest hint of extra noise and rattles I think it'd wind me up sitting in traffic etc

5 box Z4?

I thought all Z4s were 6 speeds 👀

Nope all but 3.0l pre facelift cars where 5 speed.

OP If your g-box is damaged? Surly a 6 speed swap has to be done? Also do you have a LSD? If not really consider one transforms the handling.

If the box is damaged I'll for sure chuck a 6 speed box in. A complete box and syncro is far more abundant than a 5 speed.

I don't have a diff planned. I was hoping to check if the 25% diff from a 3.0 Z3 would fit. They included these right at the end of the production and I can get one from a local breaker. I'd prefer to not a grand on a diff at this stage.

Just going to put this out for would be buyers.

1st off the kit is super value for money.
It's relatively straight forward to fit. If you've ever done a box or engine swap then you'll manage this.

The kit is designed for and this sounds obvious but.. brute power. It does what it says. The car is now slightly quicker on a 0-130mph sprint (off road of course) than a golf R 310ps. Which is almost Z4m performance.
The downside to this, It's a pig to drive slow and around town. It's either no power or full power.

Oil consumption is now at around 1l/1000km.

Fuel consumption is down from 36mpg to around 30 on like for like journeys.

Rear tyres do hold up on the regular 18s. No shredding has happened. With dsc off... It's pretty dangerous and you will not use it on the road... or you will once.

The regular leather seats become shite for boosted hooning around.

There is a significant difference on a full tank with regular plugs and poverty spec fuel to having denso iridiums and 99oct. It even sounds completely different.

On in all. If you don't want to chuck 15k to getting a significantly better car than a regular Z4.. then throwing 5k into this kit isn't actually a bad bet. There aren't many cars out there than can top a boosted Z4 for.. I think total spend on car to now is around 8.5k.. this includes all the problems I have had to date.

Granted you can get a knackered boxster or SL for the money or a risky M3.. But this is actually a perfectly viable option.

Hydraulic steering may be a better choice when nodding the car. If I ever find a Z4m interm shaft I'll get that on in the summer.

Once I find the mount for my contour HD I'll stick it to the rear shelf and provide some videos of it flying around.

Ps does anyone know how to change the xenon light sensor.. when I pull the wheel the wish gone hangs too low for it to reach? Or is it done on ramps from underneath.
