Although 108s would have had 225/40 x 18 fronts and 255/35 x 18 rears, but 224s on an M would have had 225/45 fronts and 255/40 rears.
okay just to complicate things
I have 215/45 R18 (fronts) and 245 40 R18 (rears)
Will these fit on 224's? or will I need to put them on the 108's?
It's a 3.0 with M sport suspension.

You possibly could - I have 224s on my car with 255/45 tyres on the rear, but Ms are designed for 224s which have a different offset especially on the rear.

As a reference - 255 on a 8,5J is a 100% perfect match with tyre being nearly rectangular from behind. Perfect rim protection also, but more importantly - the looks!
Leave streched tyres to Civic owners.

245 ona a 8J
275 on a 9J

" 225 on a 8j stretched " ? :? its classed as the ideal size & bear in mind the 215 suggestion is with a 45 profile as opposed to a 40 so there is no issue with it looking the least bit out of place or " stretched "
Rim width Min tyre Ideal tyre Maximum tyre
7.0 Inches 195 mm 205 or 215 mm 225 mm
7.5 Inches 205 mm 215 or 225 mm 235 mm
8.0 Inches 215 mm 225 or 235 mm 245 mm
8.5 Inches 225 mm 235 or 245 mm 255 mm
9.0 Inches 235 mm 245 or 255 mm 265 mm

Griffo46 said:All great ideas for utilising different tyres sizes. I’m shocked by the price difference of these tyres, for example, I went on to a tyre site, picked a standard tyre and then looked at all 3 sizes that I’d be interested in.
Michelin Pilot sport 4 - 225/40/18 = £107 each
Michelin pilot sport 4 - 215/40/18 = £161 each
Michelin pilot sport 4 - 215/45/18 = £174 each
The cheapest tyre above is the existing tyre size I already have on the car, so I may opt for that one. Why would that size be so cheaper?
Nice update and great to hear how they have transformed your ride quality. They are on my to do list, can’t wait tbh!WouterZZZZ said:Fellow Z4 fans, I just mounted Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres 225/45/17 94Y in extra load (XL) type. In one word: fantastic! Direct steering, sticky to the road, acceptable noise, very good feedback. No tramlining or whatsoever.
The stiffer side walls because of the XL, make the car very good to handle in corners. A very nice tyre to see (!), but that is off course a matter of ‘personal taste’.
These tyres can absorbate and transform the 265 horse powers to the road at ease.
At last they are comfortable as well despite the XL.
