I have had it done to myself after flashing someone who pulled out in front of me from a side road in a 60mph zone without looking. He got up to about 30 and then stuck the brakes on hard.

Dont get wound up about it, if you see someone thats moving faster than you are move out of the way and let them go. I dont understand people who dont move out the way when its obvious others are going quicker
I had a discussion with a cop while doing a bikesafe course years ago and they said when making progress you should ride aggressively. By saying this what he meant was dont dawdle up behind someone as they dont see it as you want past. He said you should travel at speed up to them and then they will see that you may want past.
I disagreed with this as I didnt think you should ride like this and if seen doing so would possibly get a dig.

Some people see a flash from a driver behind as: I am here and I want to go quicker than you and I would like to pass please. I am not being a prick, I just want to make progress and I will give you a 'thank you' wave as I pass. Others see it as who does this arsehole think he is, I am going to make it as awkward as I can for him. Everyone driving in the centre lane of a 3 lane Motorway (when the left lane is clear) thinks, this is where I should be, while I am here I don't have to check the rear view mirrors because I am not changing lanes (for anyone) so I can relax and think about my ex wife.

Depends on the circumstances. Some people speed up behind you and flash their lights even though you are overtaking someone. Some sit just off your bumper even though you are overtaking someone.

You are right it depends on the circumstances. There are thousands out there who dont seem to look and pay attention to others around themselves. Like the ones who move from the middle to the outside because someone in front of them is going slightly slower but move right in front of someone who was moving way faster than them but wont wait 2 or 3 seconds until they have passed.
 
Just to be clear there is a huge difference to someone wanting past and giving a quick flash thats not 5 inches off your bumper to some total w***er ramming up to you at 90+ mph , flashing his headlights and tailgating like a complete arsehole. The first instance is fine, sometimes a quick flash takes you out of your daydream, the second is the problem, if your passing a line of middle lane retarded window lickers and this prick hangs off your arse close enough to see his yellow stained teeth flashing like a drugged up dickhead then yes he gets some grief, the twat can see the situation but still can’t cope then it’s free house. Doesn’t happen very often, very rarely in fact, but yes I’ve brake checked a few of these hero’s.
 
Brake checking is illegal and classed as dangerous driving. If you do it to someone with a dashcam you may regret it even if you are being tailgated.
Much better to let them past and then give them the finger when you see them in the Ditch a couple of miles further on

As I did not say, it's all in your head guys, it really is. What you think in your car and what someone is thinking in theirs, is going to be different unless you are all trained the same. Please, there is a simple rule, keep to the left in normal driving or if you are in a country that drives on the wrong side of the road, keep to the right in normal driving. :thumbsup: If you think it depends on the circumstances, then you really do need an Advanced Driving course from someone other than anyone from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) :paper:

You're not going to get done for 78 and anything up to 95 will just get you 3 points and a £100 fine.

Not sure what is going on at the moment but on the Porsche Facebook group I see one ticket after the other being reported there. A shame the camera operators are not furloughed :(

Talking about brake checking, dashcam’s, speed cameras & Muppets... footage from this morning going to pick up Mrs from her midwife night shift over why we have cameras in all our cars.

When you’re minding your own business in a single lane right turn, the red mist can descend in an instance - just thank fek for this thread as it reminded me to let it go... too many cameras & issues with insurance over road rage
