Been a bit Busy on the M.....

My plate transfer is finally done..... the Eibach Springs are also now in place, (25mm drop at the front and 10mm at the rear) so the stance is much better



.............and FINALLY the new shoes are on!

I plumped for Avante Garde Memphis as they have a look of the CSL rims about them whilst still retaining their own individuality to step is aside from them. See what you think anyway.

PLEASE NOTE, I am still awaiting a small set of spacers for the rear to get them to sit just right/perfect.

why didn't you just ordered the correct offset for the rear, i told you it would appear sunken like it does in the photo, your now having to correct it by using a whopping 15mm spacer, buy longer bolts etc....

just seems like a waste of money when you already asked the question.

You cant always just "order the right offset for the rear" if they dont manufacture it or stock it for that particular wheel!

The Offset was only 27 which was a snatch off the original, and I already said I wanted to space the rear if it appeared like I needed it. Its no drama at all really is it!

Its not a waste of money as I have the wheel style I like so how do you work that one out?

The Spacer isnt "Whopping" at 15mm and the longer nuts come with the kit.... all in at an extra £40 delivered. If you think thats a huge waste of money then I dont know what to tell you
........ for me, thats NOTHING to get the wheels and the correct look I want, in the grand scheme of things.

Also, it gives me the option to "upsize" the rear tyre if I so desire at a later date when it comes to replacing. At the moment I dont want to as I wanted to keep as close to stock as I could..... but its certainly something I would like the option on.

I do get where Beedubs coming from as regards the spacers as in 15mm they can be quite bulky but if you cant get the offset I guess you had little choice.

exactly, there are only so many wheels either undrilled or with the correct offset.
And with Spacers safely going up to 20-25mm then I am more than within acceptable tolerances with the 15's and had I plumped for keeping the standards then i would have spaced them 10mm too as in my opinion then sit too far in as well.

The 19's arnt too bad to be fair, I expected worse. Perhaps only dropping the rear by 10 instead of the 25 helped a little. Mind you I have always been used to big wheels, little tyres so perhaps I have become acustomed!

thankyou for the large explanation.... still makes no sense when the 27 offset was available (unless I'm confused as to which you've chosen) and a smaller spacer is required to get the same result with less rotational mass ( especially as the wheels you've chosen are known to be very heavy) . No drama at all was just wondering why you choose what you did, keep cool man.

Yes mate, I DID pick the 27 offset Thats the nearest I could get to perfection on that wheel design. The rest will have to be up to the spacer. To be honest it only really needed a 10mm to make it right but I decided on the additional 5mm per side out of choice if I am honest. 8)

I see everything as a trade-off. If I want to do something (like get those wheels) then usually there is a trade off on what I have to go through to get there. I weigh up the trade off and if its no drama I go for it. After reading that thread (the link I posted) and a couple of other race forums I decided to plump for the 15's with no worries at all.

Cheers for the comment by the way, yes I am happy with the way it is shaping up although after how I got my Range Rover I still have a LITTLE way to go before it 'gets there' lol

Quite like the wheels. With a bit more concavity in the rear it would be perfect.

This pictures dont do it justice, the rears really are actually quite concave! I shall try to take some better pics at the weekend, this was just rushed in the garage after fitment, but yes.. they are actually quite concave.
