Bang for bucks (exhaust)

Wozers that last video is just crazy!!

I'm talking my self into the RPi system, slowly but I'm getting there.

RPI - uncorked with free flow cat section!!!
By the look of the condensation/steam coming out of the exhaust on startup, it doesn't look like the car had been warmed up before he sat it on the rev limiter

woots.... enjoy!!!

Sounds epic, shame the wheels are f%cked. Seems stupid having a car sound and perform one way, and wheels like an overloaded pram. :?

Does anyone have a clip of the noise on an M with just the cheap bypass?

Are there any disadvantages?

Not been able to sneak home late without waking the mrs the only disadvantage I can think of ;)

That does sound truely awesome & just proves how great these M engines can sound rather than the muted effort you get as standard, only problem is everytime I hear good exhaust notes it makes me miss my TVR that little bit more.

I agree it needs to be better then factory but I'm not sure ear bleeding volume will fit in with the image, more so perceived image by others of the Z4. (even in my week of ownership I have had its just a Z4).

I expect my ears to hurt when I see a TVR.

For me it's going to be all about balance. After all it doesn't have be extremely loud to sound good.

I could just do with the M exhaust note being just a little louder from the cabin, and perhaps a bit more raspy

Yes the tvr noise is deafining. My mate has a t350 with a sports exhaust and he's just had it de-catted - now my ears are bleeding...

I want a deeper note from my zorst, the RPi seems to have a nice deep sound. I hope just the back box system will be just right. Don't think I could cope with straight through system.

The RPI's are for all intents and purposes straight through...

Someone on the Cotswold run had RPI back boxes, sounded like god snoring.

That was me !! Yeah super loud !! :D

Is it your everyday drive or just for weekends?

It's normally a weekend car but havin been driving everyday for last 2 weeks!
And I found the exhaust noise ok, drones abit on lower revs but if u hit it right
On the rev counter it can be a lot quieter :)

I agree I think when you are in the car the standard set up is fairly discreet, but I would like to think it sounds good if you were out on a pavement & a Z4M/M3 shot past.

That's one of the big things I like about the C63 AMG & Aston Martin as they sound good even at low revs & just pottering, but you don't get much sound from an M car at low revs without doing some sort of modification.

Maybe I am just a show off but my TVR sounded awesome just on tickover & signalled its intent & all hell broke loose if you revved it & I still had the cats in just a sports exhaust...it really is a big thing I miss, I would love a akrapovic exhaust for my M3 but I haven't got that sort of money lying around.
