AVINUSA 10.25 multimedia nav system

Well done Neil

Now that you’ve proven it fits, I’d be really interested as to how impressed you are by the unit itself and how well it functions?

My one concern has always been the lack of I-drive style controller - touchscreen doesn’t seem the best idea whilst driving!

We let you know once i have it all fully up and running, I have a small issue with bluetooth setup at the moment which means i cannot connect the iphone, carplay and OBD adapter. Have emailed AVINUSA and have suggested changing settings which ill have a look at later.

Thus once up and running steering wheel controls should work and i will be able to voice control it to a degree. The screen is massive and does sit a little high, if your short you will have visual problems seeing over it !!

Sorted Bluetooth just need to change factory setting.

Sorted AUX connection, replaced cheap eBay cable with one with resistors in, now have sound.

Wired up wireless charge phone holder using spare USB port from screen.

Added music to SD card

Installed Sygic offline maps app.

Just waiting on CarPlay dongle from AvinUSA

Might have asked this already Neil but are you getting any car info to that screen? MPG, range left?

I know using the BT OBD you can get some info via Torque pro but my next step, now that i got the wire out, is to see if I can get the cambus feed into my 'Joying' Unit.

No not yet anyway, the Z4 headunit i think doesn't has canbus as it doesn't have idrive. I have the torque app but my cheap bluetooth dongle wont connect !! working on it.

Hi,
i already had a rear camera connected up to the old factory flip screen via the TV module in the boot, My camera is part of a numberplate surround so to install that the rear bumper had to come off so i could feed cables through one of the rubber grommets on the corner of the car. I then ran the cables through the centre below the DVD / CD changer, this requires the centre rear console to be removed, then run the cables through past the handbrake and gear selector and come up under the heater controls so i can connect into head unit. you might have to remove seats too to get the centre tunnel out.

Proposed setup:
Retain: Aftermarket reversing camera in numberplate surround, Intravee & Alpine 420 unit, I need the intravee to control the triple blink & flash to pass on my car.
Install 10.25" multimedia unit, carplay and android software to talk with ODB port. install platinumIPTV apk or mirror iphone to run TV
Should it work with this version of platinumIPTV?

How big of a gap is there at the front edge?
