nice project, subscribed! side note, didn't realise z4's were offered with SMG

yes its the original SMG not quite the same as the e46 M3, its was actually labelled SSG no launch control !!

Update:
Ripped out OEM tvhybrud unit, firestick cables, usd socket and alpine 420 unit.

Rewire reverse camera cable and trigger wire through to head unit.

New screen should be here in the week

You're going to be busy today!
Are you going to lower the screen slightly like in that guys video?

Well had to cut dash and trim base plate as it’s not designed for Z4 but an X3
Not finish fitting it in just wanted to see if wiring is ok

Took about 6 hours on Saturday, Monday about 5 hours, today about 3 hours. Still have a few small issues.

Totals about 14 hours but most was spent thinking about it and cleaning!! Could probably do it in 4-5 hours

Oh about a couple of hours, doing very small alterations and keep trying it

Photos of trimmer areas on dash and base plate.

1. Drilled hole in leg to use as fixing point.
2. Cut cross plug back as it is not required
3. Drilled hole in leg to use as fixing point.
4. Sanded edge down as Z4 dash has slightly different contours
5. Cut front lip off
6. Not shown on pictures but remove the three metal screw plates at back edge of original hole in dash which the flip screen screws used.
7. Trimmed dash as underside of new base where screen sits is wider.
8 & 9. Cut dash for the back legs to fit. 40mm off centre, so 80mm apart. 15mm wide and approx 10-15mm deep.
10. Trimmed dash as underside of new base where screen sits is wider.
