Looking great, job well done. 20+ hours graft but plenty of months of protection so well worth it. I ordered some of that Sonax this week too so looking forward to getting a free weekend in March and getting the paint back to spotless. only have a little bit of #845 and CG XXX wax left so need to order new sealant and wax soon. Used to use #845 and 888 on top on my previous car and loved it. 888 needing to applied more often but love how it looks on silver.

Gave mine a quick 2B wash and glaze with Black hole and re waxed this week just to give it some love.

Once I get my 108s back I plan on taking some far better photographs. Plan on changing the wax every couple of weeks so will report back.

What's on your short list of waxes and sealants?

I've been very impressed with #845 it looks stunning layered on silver and it acts more like. Sealant I think. In the past R888 was always really slick on my silver vx220, looks very wet so may get that again.

Prob going down the Black Hole glaze-#845-R888 route I think once it's all corrected with the new Sonax.

Never used R888 but I've heard good things. If you fancy a change take a look at either Soft 99 King of Gloss or Authentic Premium, both are classed as show waxes and priced at £20.

Potentially you shouldn't need a glaze if correcting the paint work using sonax. Have you any IPA?

no IPA, what you recommend?

I don't usually glaze at all tbh its why the BH has lasted years but it seems to give it a really nice base for some reason. so easy on and off so no effort to put it on.

Thanks for the heads up on the wax, good price too so will check them out.

For the money you can't go wrong with this http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-accessories/polish-inspection-sprays/isopropanol-alcohol-ipa-500ml/prod_818.html, sometimes no need in a brand name (however my customers like to see a brand name sometimes).

You can buy Soft 99 from Nipponshine direct or soft 99 on eBay.

Thanks. will definitely help post machine. Looking forward to getting stuck in now, its been a while since I did a full job on the Z

Let me know how you get on.

Last of the big expenses (let's hope) this year. Collected my freshly refurbished 108s today from Yorvik Engineering in York. £360inc vat. Black barrel, OEM BBS silver then hyper silver rim to replicate the original look. Really pleased with them, they'll look great on the car in the new rubber.

It passed its MOT last week but did need new rear discs and pads Which I knew about so apart from that passed with flying colours.

Fitted the 108s this afternoon with the new tyres followed by a quick blast up to Scartop to test out the new rubber. Feels so much more planted compared to the Falken's.

hope you took some pics of your cut n shut job, the car looks magnificent mate, :D you can really see the hard work and elbow grease you've put in her.. one thing man (please don't take it to heart), but thats the most depressing garage I've ever seen.. Your poor zed.. having to spend its time in there..

None taken. If it was my garage I would have torn it down and built a proper double garage in its place but my landlord is a tight arse! I may paint a mural of an open road on the inside so least "Zara" has something to look at.

I took a few photos of the process but anyone who's done knows what a mess it makes when cutting!

Feeling a little rough this afternoon and what with a detail job tomorrow VW Transporter I thought I'd sort the garage out....

Now just need to decide what wax to use on it
