Autumn/Winter 2012 image thread

Tom, do you not miss the optical viewfinder with the nex5?
Although the 6 would be a huge jump in price normally, I could get one with the two lenses for around £250 more, but I'm trying to work out if it's worth it.

Well ye I do miss it but I use it in a different way. Use it more like a mobile phone for snap shots but it takes pics with the quality comparable to DSLRs.

The thing is the EVFs are slow and also delayed with exposure to the scene etc. The Sonys are probably the best on the market tho! The rear LCD is really good and quite intuitive you end up using it in a different way to a conventional camera.

Depends what you want mine is just an out and about camera stick it in my pocket kind of thing anything I want to shoot I grab the DSLR. It was so cheap it was worth it. £400 I would struggle to buy a lens for my DSLR. When you start looking at the £650-1100 range I think the value compared to DSLRs become cloudy.

The NEX6 looks fantastic tho! £250 better? I don't think so! But depends what you want! If you want a compact great IQ camera with fantastic features you cant go wrong really.

Other one that looks good is the Fuji XE-1

This morning, outside Thirsk on the main east coast line. Flooded fields, all frozen solid.
(apologies for quality, taken with iPhone, through a train window)
