AUC Z4Ms now dipping below £20k

Was that a £21,400 starting price? For a Z4MC that sounds like a great price!

I've noticed that too, private cars more than AUC. Also, quite a few places seem to be charging more for Si Sports than you can buy same age similar milage Ms, which just seems very odd!

That does sound like a good price. No Sat-Nav I suspect. Is it Red? If it is I think I remember seeing that one on the AUC.

Four weeks ago, I managed to get £1500 off the sticker price for my late 56 MC. Given that I know how much they spent getting it ready for the forecourt (£784), plus I then got them to do a full KDS (£150 - although not them clearly), a half tank of fuel and a valet plus a few other bits and bobs it must have been getting on for £1k. They then need to add on the warranty, pay their staff, keep their coffee and biscuits stocked up and make some margin I'd say that a trade in of over £20k was pretty favourable.

Shame I'm not still in the market, I love Monaco blue.

It was up for £22,850, I was just passing so popped in to take a look and for some reason they had some VIP sales bonanza weekend stock-shifting nonsense megadeal thing going on. There was a sticker on the window with £1400 off the pre-sale price without even asking, I couldn't get them to give any more off.

It's actually Interlagos, although I did see that red one too. True it's got no sat-nav which does seem to hurt the values, but the mileage is average - 10k/year and I'm over the moon with it! :-)

I only walked in to take a look, walkedout having signed, oops :D

Oh they have an Interlagos M Roadster too for under £20k. That has under 30k miles, Nav and is still on the AUC for anyone interested, looks a good buy but I really wanted the Coupe!

Cheers

You keep telling yourself that! Good work though!

Sytner a bit too far from me. Want to get a test drive to try and get an idea a) how good a package the M really is and b) how bad it is in crawling traffic... at which point I suspect c) my finances, won't even enter into it!

a) great!
b) no difference to my 3.0 except a nice rumbling sound
c) I could loan you the money for say, 10% ? :D

A very kind offer! Wondered how you pay for all the detailing kit

I was hoping to get down this Sunday and have a look your M - it was Andy's last weekend and this very thread that's set me thinking!

Reading some of the posts it seem like I'm getting a pretty good offer then. I only paid just over £21,000 for it 8 months ago so hasn't lost much. I can see myself in a 123d M sport remapped soon. Need something quite quick and sensible at the same time. :)

I have to add that your colour combo is more unusual and therefore more attractive for resale value. Red and Interlagos are the ones taking the real hits at the moment, and if there is no satnav you can completely forget it.

Nice looking Z4MC :) Shame it's going but not too a bad price you're getting.

I'm very happy indeed with my remapped 123D - quite quick and sensible is a very good way to describe it :D I look forward to getting into it and driving it every day - I never thought I would say that about a diesel!

Purchase price is not a problem. High fuel cost, maintenance, insurance are the other things.

So true, I had my heart set on a Z4 M...

I had the funds, even went to see a few. But my accountant head prevented me... :|

I simply could not justify the other costs that came with owning one. I used to own an M3 at 24 years old. I saved zilch that year of my life!!!!! Went through a few girlfriends though!!!

Good, that gives me an excuse to keep it then :D

Can't find a single red one for sale either.

Did the remap make a big difference to performance?

Absolutely! It's no M car obviously, but in gear acceleration is addictive with 510Nm torque :D

My car wasn't making the quoted BMW figures on the original Dyno run, but the actual gains post remap were +50bhp across most of the power band and between 50-100 lb/ft torque as you can see from the chart below:

Pretty much the same figures as a 330D now, but in a smaller lighter car with better MPG.

I do miss my remapped Golf GTi Edition 30 ... the rush from a mapped turbo is always amusing. My Golf produced 300bhp ... with a DSG auto box and on the move was stupid quick.

Even after 2 months of Z4M ownership I know which felt quicker and it wasn't the Z4M !! That said I also know which has a roof that lowers and looks somewhat more appealing ....and that's without considering that noise !!!! :D

I have only enjoyed driving one make of diesel - and that is BMW. I never thought, a few years ago, that I would say that ! They are very, very good for what they are and I am sure the 123d even in standard form is highly amusing. Remapped must be superb. The only downside is the fuel consumption. My experiences in 530d's saw 18-22 mpg

Thats shocking! I'm averaging 40mpg in the 123d and I don't hang about!

To be fair it is because my experience of them is as a Traffic Policeman - they don't do the same sort of things a normal diesel does .... and though I was still surprised how much diesel they used it was far better than the previous cars - Vauxhall Omega 3.2's ... which drank loads of fuel !!
