i cant believe how cheap that car is, thats mega value for money when you consider the perfomance. who cares if it doesnt have sat nav at that price anyway ?

'Tis true. If you look at it as a stand alone 350BHP roadster for £17k and ignore what options are out there, it's insane value.

You don't need the nav to use the ipod. Mine works just fine with the AUX lead.

Sorry, I didn't explain that properly, I have the Dension at the moment - which is great and would use again (I like everything to be out of sight)... just be nice to have the screen with the details album / track info on - which obviously you get using the AUX.

Anyway... thinking about this far too much for my own good. You chaps posting pics of your Ms really doesn't help!

I'm currently looking at a Z4M Roadster AUC. My current car is a 350z GT4 (limited edition), which I am currently selling.

Found a lovely interlagos blue roadster Originally it was up for £23k, reduced now to £22k. It's £2000 more than the same spec/mileage as another in black. Ideally I want to move away from having black cars to a blue, but I can't justify the £2000 extra! What are my chances of comparing the two and knocking them down?

Hi Booner, welcome to the forum

If you're looking at roadsters I'm sure there's a deal to be had! Depends what the car owes them but they do seem keen for a sale of anything with a soft top just now just to get it off the books. Based on the few dealers I've spoken to in the last month.

Sounds familiar: I drove two at the end of last year, the first black / red (looked lovely) for around £18,500 (very cheap at the time), the second Interlagos / black and a little under £20,000... the dealer was quite shocked by the price of the black one but was willing to work on the price. Unfortunately a few mods meant that they weren't able to give me enough for my car and not sold it privately :x

Would be looking for a very good deal for a non AUC!

My opinion, but I think you're in a very good position.

Its true!

I would know as it was mine! Part ex'd it back in Sept.

Lovely car.

Sept... interesting.

Had a callback earlier on this one, no wonder the dealer sounded so keen! May have a look in if I'm in London this weekend, but they really weren't interested in my car, so doubt it's a goer.

Thanks Pawn, I'm going to call him and say that there is a similar spec car, both identical in spec and mileage from what I can see...just different colours! Ideally, I would like to get him down to the £20k mark, but think this is unlikely. Is there anything I should aim to get thrown in?

No matter what the network they can see all other cars on their system... have a look at this list (national search)
http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/national_search_result/0,,1260_159980106__,00.html

There are a few cars on there under £20K - 3 at pretty much 20k miles or less, although not checked the spec. Depending on which franchise you're dealing with they can move cars around with the network, so you don't need one that's close.

AUC cars will carry a years warranty other than that I'd want the service interval to be as long as possible - both the ones I looked at were to be service prior to delivery.

Depends on how badly you want it - I'd be tempted to leave them and hope they come back more interested / willing to deal. That can work against you. If you have a search on here there was a thread about dealer tactics with more useful advice.

Good luck!

I'm not in a rush, as I have a work car too. I'm tempted to ring and ask them directly to say they are the same spec, why is one £2000 more! The sales guy was trying to pressure me by saying all the usual stuff about it will sell fast etc etc, but with time in my favour, his tactics won't work! :D

And strangely, the Interlagos Blue / Sepang Bronze / Imola Red ones were £2k cheaper than most others I looked at (although I now quite like Sepang).

I too am thinking about moving back into M ownership.

Sold my coupe around September last year but the prices are nice just now.

Thinking about a roadster this time but my head keeps telling me to go for another coupe. Or the idea can be scrapped altogether for one of the other cars on the huge list I'm creating.
