Are my wheels really that ugly?

Just thought I would add my opinion here as I recently brought a Z4M a month ago with basically the same spec but mileage of 63k. I paid over 2k less for mine than yours is up for although I would have been interested in yours had it come up for sale at the time.
In any case, the car I brought had similar alloys to yours, Breyton Spirit 2's and they got widely panned on here when the guy was selling, very marmite wheels much like mine. Personally it didn't put me off as I can sell the alloys at some point and no doubt swap to CSL's with minimal fuss and cost although I can imagine it did put a lot of people off with the hassle of doing that.
Also, I have a few must have's when it comes to spec on a Roadster and one of those is heated seats which yours surprisingly doesn't have considering the rest of the spec. Personally for a Roadster this would be a deal breaker for me unless the price was much lower, and to be honest I think some people buying a Roadster would be in the same boat.
It's a lovely car and a good spec you have there, but as others have said the mods are a bit marmite, some won't want a blaring exhaust behind their head and it's the main thing I would consider putting back to standard. My 3.0si I'm trying to sell hasn't had as much interest as I'd hoped and I'm sure it's the straight through pipes which are limiting the audience (rest of the car is standard). I guess some people like getting stuck into their car with a list of things they want to change but a lot of people spending that kind money want the car they want out the box with minimal effort/cost on their part.
Basically I would say put standard exhaust on, and standard wheels. Bit of hassle but will widen your audience!
Good luck, it's a very nice example!

Oh and the car PVR linked to is the one I actually ended up buying!

I'd love to buy your brakes and you could easily persuade me to give you the OEM brakes as part payment. You could even twist my arm to throw in a set of OEM 224s with good tyres if the price was right.

Your wheels are ok, your car is lovely...but together they just look wrong. Sorry! That wouldn't put me off buying it though were I in the market - it would be easy to replace the wheels and sell them for good money. I suspect that it's the combination of price and modifications that all imply hard use (why else would you need to upgrade the stock brakes and fit RE rear shock mounts?).

The first thing that strikes me is your mods hint towards a car that may have been tracked.
I don't know if it has, but those were my thoughts. That will put some people off.

I have to agree. If the car has not been tracked it would be worth mentioning it.
There was an Alpina for sale on here recently with a pic of the car on a track, which for me personally, would make me look elsewhere.
I'm not sure the mods themselves would put me off if they are ones I would do anyway in the future.
It's a nice car so I would imagine the price is a little high.

Thanks for all the honest feedback. I will have a think about a price revision and maybe see if I could somehow find the time to remove the bbk/exhaust/wheels/strut brace.

I actually changed the shock mounts at the same time as the springs to remove common failure points in the car to give myself peace of mind. The car has seen a couple of half track days. I was planning on a few more given the tools at my disposal but ended up using track day money on other things

I bet that everyone that's afraid for a tracked car still wants your brakes
Front&rear must have cost a fair bit (not many people have front&rear bbk), and AP racing is a sub brand from brembo (or better said: owned by brembo)

The figure was over 3k - I still have the original receipts from the previous owner who fitted them. I have had to change the front discs/pads which wasn't all that cheap either!

personally i see no reason why a BBK would devalue the car and id certainly add money for it, very desirable modification on any ///M car imo, particularly this one, considering the kit you have is one of the best available near enough 4k new , now not to mention a 6 month lead time... its a definite selling point for the car... the only prob with the AP bits is replacement parts are ridiculous, but will outlast o.e parts considerly from my experience.

on the wheels, any 18" wheel will work but the rim may need to be spaced to allow spoke clearance, no biggy at all, and sadly the wheels are your car do look kinda pants, i think the o.e wheel with those brakes would look awesome.

Well, I'd have to agree with the general consesus here. The wheels do nothing for the car. As they're something you can't miss it could indeed be affecting your sale.

If i was looking for an ///M there would be no reason why I wouldn't look at this (I'm not a fan of the wheels, but they can be changed).... But I'm not buying an ///M

I'm wondering if the road fund license is starting to effect the ///M sale-abilitly

its a factor in my world for sure / for a lot of M owners the car is not a daily driver so £500 a year to do minimal weekend miles has to enter the buying equation for most owners .
Ive been close to pulling the M trigger twice & whilst not saying it was the only reason why i did'nt but it certainly weighs heavily against it

Well to be honest I was going to buy a 59 plate RX8-R3 before I purchased my Z4 but the £485 road tax was a too hard pill to swallow.... I've done 2k miles in the last 2 years of owing my Z4 :D

Surely an extra £4 a week isnt gonna put people off buying an M car over a lesser model.

OP....Sorry,wheels are not to my taste.Flog them and put some CSL's on..

Maybe the 1st October new monthly payable road fund licence plan may help some people consider a higher taxation vehicle 8)

Think I made my feelings clear on the other thread. Not my thing so would have to be changed. Factored into the price OK, but at top money no thanks.

Put at £4 a week it sounds ok , but when running another 2 vehicles busting through £1000 a year on roadfund licence starts to weigh heavy on my financial mind : :|

My £500 only does 1,500-2,000 a year where as my £30 oil burner does 20,000. There is no logic to the VED as it only looks at CO2, and not that combined by mileage

IMHO:

Wheels actually look OK to me but will put many people off.

The mods will also put many off. People generally are looking for unmolested OEM cars otherwise they think they have been abused and tracked. We all want a
virgin :D

5 owners - this will defo also be an issue and ultimately must be factored into the price

No heated seats

At the end of the day though, it all comes down to price and the money is clearly far too strong all things considered, hence the lack of interest.

If you want to sell it without mucking about, start reducing the price significantly and it will sell.

Good luck.

funny .... I've had numerous generous offers for my car from wealthy older guys who want a toy incidentally who come to spectate while being used at the track... and my car is probably one of the most modded on the forum.... theirs a market for everything.. i came Very close at one point, but ultimately kept it... and onto the owners, i don't think thats too extreme, these car seem to change hands alot.

Maybe....

But in reality,if the extra £4 per week puts buyers off then they would be mad to buy the M model...I mean whats £4 gonna buy you at the pumps...12 miles??
