So who will pre-order the new phone tonight? I am up most nights late anyway, and I'm eligible for an upgrade with 3 mobile at the moment.

Just sold my iPhone 5 16GB for £185 to envirophone, should hopefully cover the upgrade cost.

Just depends if the contract prices are increasing also.....Wait and see i suppose :)

Pre-orders aren't open until the 12th Sept, unless you know summit I don't?

I know that i don't know what day it is! haha

Yes Samsung manufacture the iPhone screen and a few other bits too....hence why they hold back a. Little in their court actions as they both rely on each other

Don't Samsung manufacture iPhone screens?

I thought apple moved to LG last year for their screens. Also the memory is no longer samsung too.

I dont think i will bother getting my work phone replaced... Maybe the 6s with the saffire glass screen.

Personally i like my current 5s. And my htc one m8 looks a million times better.

They have multiple manufactures creating the screens, they are trying to move away from samsung but their yields are a lot higher than anyone else so I don't think they have quite managed yet.

I assume it is best to buy outright and continue my SIM only contract - correct?

Yes I am buying outright. Not upgrading. £700 for a 64GB, and I will get £300 for my 5S, so £400 beats topping up a contract by £20 a month, so just upgraded my contract with a Samsung for nothing extra and away I go....

The cost is about the same, I worked it out a few years ago and think the contract was about 50-100 more expensive in the long run. But means you don't need in initial investment… either way expensive lol.

You get a few extras with the contracts tho, like tethering, visual voicemail all that bs carriers lock.

I have an old T-mobile with unlimited data (not available anymore) as well as tethering which I have to use when on clients site as they often won't let me connect to their networks with my laptop.

Only downside is that it is 3G.

Upside is that it is a tenner a month for unlimited data and more minutes than I can ever use.

Thought it was only O2 that offer visual voicemail?

Not sure I think all carriers have something. You can have the tethering option enabled but you have to get in touch with the carrier, or you used to.

Been trying to log into my O2 to upgrade my contract all day, server error has been there for 7 hours now. Pathetic.

I'll wait until April next year when my contract is up, although my daughter is out of contract on her 4 and is after my 5, so may get sooner than I planned.

Delivery date 29th September - 2nd October as per my order.

Guess that is not true ...
