Compared to an S2000, then no.
I don't have any trouble leaving it in 6th on my motorway runs and only take it into a lower gear when I'm in heavy, slow-moving traffic. If it stays above 50mph then I'll just leave it in 6th and easily maintain my gap to the car in front when the traffic speeds up to the normal 80-85mph cruise.
You can feel the different 'steps' in the power band though when you do this, and I wouldn't try straining the engine by trying to floor it below 1500rpm in 6th.
