Anyone know this Z4MR: PX06PYT / DSU992 ?

Hi all! New member posting for the first time. Hoping to join the fold, and was wondering if anyone knows this car ?

Black sapphire with red leather. (Wouldn't normally be a fan of red interiors, but think it works in a car like the Z4MR).

The car has been on both registrations: PX06PYT and DSU992.

just wondering if anyone knows the car ?

I think this is the car, no photos currently http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/M/3.2-M//1767085-605390952-3497061.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_

If you look it up here under DSU 992 the MOT history is clear and the mieage shows its hardly been used.

for a car with so little miles and to be at a dealer..... I've very surprised by the price... expected to see it start with a 2

Hi, thanks for all the replies, much appreciated!

Yes, it is the one for sale at Harry Fairbairn, as linked above.

Was hoping to trace its owners to learn a bit more about the car's history.

The dealership is doing some work to get it to AUC standards, including all new tyres, new rear discs and pads, new break pipes. Anything else that I should be asking them to check/arrange as part of the pre-delivery process ?

new brake pipes?? on a 14k mile car..... hmmm....... do alittle more digging on this one.... the price, some of the parts being replaced would have me going over this with a fine comb brush.

Yup, that's why I had posted... The dealership has apparently lost the service book, which sent alarm bells ringing, but it's a main dealer so a little curious ?

If it's been maintained by main dealers all its life then the dealer can easily recreate the service book, so no excuses there.

Don't think so... Dealer saying that the service book went missing in their workshop. They've spoken to the chap who traded the car in, so will pass on my details to see if they can put me in touch.

And the private plate seems to be on another car now.

Thx buddy. I hope so. But they don't have the previous receipts so trying to see how much I can get.

Ring BMW, they should be able to tell when serviced and what was done. May have to identify specific dealerships that did the work though. Be good to have VIN no. due to different registrations. Car like this will be very hard to sell on without FSH proof.

If you speak to former owner ask them where serviced. If no joy with them try Bmw Uk but I have no experience of that. Assume they're database may hold that info., if not try BMW dealers close to last registered address of car.

Thanks. Do you mean BMW GB ?
There's a £1/minute BMW customer service number (0906 209 0001) you can call.

BMW website said:
To obtain details of a vehicle's specification, or information on the visits to a BMW Centre of a particular vehicle, please call our dedicated team on: 0906 209 0001

Lines are open from:
Monday - Friday: 9.00am to 5.00pm

Calls cost £1 per minute plus your phone company's access charge and calls may be recorded for training purposes.

It will tell you when it's been in to a dealer and where, but it's up to the dealer whether they provide you with that information or not.

When I had my new engine under warranty, I had to phone the individual dealers in my service history to specifically allow Mondial access to my service history, as they'd just gone over to a new dealer service info system :headbang:

If you know which dealerships the car may have been into, you can call them and ask nicely for what was done, when etc. I did this with my car because, although I got service history details from the one previous owner, there was no further paperwork from the other previous owners so I had to try to undertake the exercise of tracking what had been done. In my case, luckily, the service manual was present so I contacted those garages and asked for details, which they were happy to give as I was (by then) the registered owner/keeper. If that avenue is not open to you, there is the main BMW GB helpline but it really is expensive - I'd have been fine using work's phone bill but they blocked 09 numbers!

Thanks guys. Will have to call around tomorrow to get more info.

If a car is issued an AUC Warranty, is there a possibility that the warranty is invalid due to absence of the service book ? Presume the car's service history has to be checked before an AUC warranty can be issued ?

mmm-five: thanks for raising mondial, good point!
