Well back in and got my own room!!!!

I thinks it’s more to keep an eye on me that I’m primed and ready!

I guess that way they know you're covid-free and ready to roll when a liver appears.

Nar, its more to do with his choice of TV channel (thinks back to last Christmas!).

Hope you get sorted quickly Jock

Quick tinternet search and it looks like bus route 114

https://www.traveline.info/ then enter 114 as the route and Cambridge as the locality.

Can't save the timetable as a jpeg on this PC to paste into this thread so you'll have to do it the long way!

[UPDATE]

Well that’s me back home from Addenbrookes and I’ve got myself onto the transplant list so unfortunately it’s now a waiting game for some poor soul who is compatible to pass away to allow the procedure to take place. Could be 2 days could be 4 months but I’ve been given that chance.

Physically I’m not that great all my muscles (if any) have gone so everything is exhausting!!!!!!!

Emotionally however, everyday is a roller coaster and not that pleasant especially someone loosing their life....

Car is safe outside my bedroom window but I fall in and out love with it everyday.

My wife and kids have been amazing as has very close friends ❤️❤️❤️

Many many thanks to you guys for your comments/ support. 👍

Peace x

Hopefully you won’t have to wait to long and you will be out zedding again.I carry a organ donor card with me ,in the event of my passing there might be some useful bits they can use.

Jock156

My best wishes for you...in a previous life we used to fly organs for transplants so became aware of some of the issues that arise from that process..so as you say it’s a waiting game...most likely to come when you least expect...

Hopefully the issue that sometimes happens of an unsuitable condition organ after the initial possible match confirms a potential transplant will not happen for you..

Hope it happens soon for you..

Best Peter

Good to hear from you - what makes you think the rest of us are getting out at the moment?

Few more months and maybe we can all sit down for a breakfast again here's hoping you're all sorted sooner rather than later.

Hi Jock

Glad to hear you're home for Xmas and have all the family to lean on.
Fingers crossed that you get sorted soon, though as you say, it's always at someone else's expense.
After all my time in the RAF and the social life that entailed, I doubt my liver would be much good to anyone any more, so don't be sending the assassins to Attleborough.

Offer still stands to look after the car for you if you are not in the mood/unable to/fed up looking at it, etc.

In the meantime, enjoy every day to the best of your abilities and make sure you keep looking in on us here. Always a good argument going on that you can have a giggle at.

Best wishes
Martin

You don't know me and we never met, but just want to wish you the best of luck for next few months, im sure its especially tough at this time of year.

Try to keep positive whilst you ride the roller Coast of physical and emotional challenges you must be going through

Well it seems [ref]jock156[/ref] hasn't been on the forum since 8th Jan.
Given how things were going for him, I'm hoping he's ok and wondering if anyone may have a way of contacting him to check?
I've left him a PM in the meantime.

[ref]jock156[/ref], if you do read this, we're thinking of you.

Just a quick update on Jock as I hadn't heard from him for a while.
Jingle has kept in touch though, and he just sent me this:

"Yea I spoke to him quite regularly and spoke to his daughter last week (his missus and daughter have been taking out the Z to keep it ticking over). He’s had the transplant and was doing ok, had a little set back so went back into intensive care but is doing ok again last I heard. Don’t think he has access to social media for obvs reasons so his daughter is signing in to his account to keep people updated. Fingers crossed he’s on the mend and goes home to recover soon!"

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him well. I've asked Jamie (Jingle) to pass on our best wishes.
Hopefully Jock will be back in his Z before too long.

Good news, he should know you can’t leave the forum without written permission :P
Rob

Yeah, and think of all the interesting covid/jab/conspiracy/political threads he's missing.

I'm glad to hear he is recovering, and wish him all the best.

We've never met, but I sort of feel like I know him as he bought a set of CSL Reps from me!

I've only just seen this thread! Wishing you the best in your recovery, Jock. Hopefully you'll be back in the zed in no time :driving:

Andy.

*UPDATE TIME*

Well it’s that time!!!! Hope everyone out there is safe and well.

Me? I’m still in hospital (Addenbrooke’s) with a view to getting home soon. I’ve been in 2 local hospitals 99% of this year. So here goes............

1. My liver transplant was 100% successful on 27th January and still is it’s just the associated gubbins that surrounds it. The liver arrived on the 26th January. 😳. My wife and all the transplant team have said that I’m a very lucky guy to see the other side. I was in quite a bad way when I was admitted. Really I don’t remember January at all.

2. Because of my condition I slept all through February in an induced coma sort of thing as my body had been put under a bit of stress which led me to “pegging out” 3 times at various times. I don’t remember a thing about the op or February.

3. They woke me up beginning of March where I didn’t even know myself looking in a mirror. Didn’t recognise my wife or kids on FaceTime calls. No real pain as I was morphined up to the hilt and beginning the journey of coming off it. I was mad as a box of frogs at this stage but still with it if you know what I mean. I was pleading with the Drs to get me back to the hospital in Norwich where my family is to help in my recovery. I hadn’t seen them since mid January. They agreed and I was back in Norwich by the End of March.

4. April was just test after test after test. I’ve had biopsies every sort of scan you could imagine and a bone marrow scan at the base of my spine which just takes pain to a whole new level and feck knows how many blood tests, we’ll over a 💯 this year. I’ve still got tubes in my nose/ back of the throat etc to help feed me as I went down to 8 1/2St from 15 1/2St 😳.

5. I should have been discharged last Friday afternoon and on the final scan of this whole episode they discovered a couple of viruses, one in my pancreas and one in my spleen. So I’m now feckin diabetic and back in Addenbrooke’s. Just need to sort my other virus then hopefully home in about 2 weeks 🤞.

Sorry for dragging all this out but that’s the condensed version.

Thank you for all your best wishes and concerns 👏👏👏👍👍👍
