Well said.

Don't read the similar thread on pistonheads whatever you do, it's about 1000x worse with some standard "daily mail reader" racism thrown in.

I personally think Lewis is in a very happy place right now, doing & being exactly what he wants to do & when he wants to do it, he's coming across very relaxed in interviews & with a new maturity IMHO.

He seems to be more focused since his split with long time girlfriend (yes girlfriend!) Nicole, although if he does come out at some point in the future I would hope that this doesn't alter people's opinion of him.

Like him or loathe him I think anyone would struggle to argue that he delivers results & is at the top of his game.

I think its a refreshing change to see someone other than the typical clean cut 'boy next door' PR delight that F1 has produced over the years.

Change of hair colour is nothing new with F1 drivers, anyone remember Jacques Villeneuve's silver hair?, Vettel went blonde a couple of years ago, I think even DC may have gone blonde in the past although he's gone fair naturally now anyway.

Go Lewis at Monza.

Hope he is gay, that will take the swagger out of his walk.
Why...?

I honestly can't see that it would make any difference... he is what he is, a very talented driver, and his 'swagger' comes from knowing that he's very, very good at what he does - I can't see what on earth his sexuality has to do with that :?

Am I worried about Lewis Hamilton? hmm let me think...

He is on pole for tomorrows' Italian GP
He has a 21 point lead over Rosberg
He is a 2 times F1 WC, soon to be 3 time champion
He is rolling in £, reportedly getting paid over £32 million a year, with that a private that cost over £10 million and a fleet of super|hyper cars
He has the £ to do what he wants, where he wants, with whom he chooses, in his personal time...

No, I am not worried for the guy, just jealous :)

+1, and I'm sure many feel the same.
Jensen would get my favourite british driver vote, but Lewis is flying the flag and doing it well. Go Lewis :D

Doesn't make any difference if he's gay or straight, he's still a petulant little prick with no dress sense.

Who gives a s**t - live your own life, stop worrying about how much better he may or may not be living his.

Sorry OP but whichever way I read your post it comes across as offensive. To think someone can't be respected solely because of their appearance......

Beginning to regret ever starting this, it was never intended to be contraversial or provoke some of the responses only to register my concern that his attitude and lifestyle were taking a different approach.
Of course he has the right and the money to do what ever he wants in life and the concern was that it was leading to distractions that could affect his chosen sport.

I'm amused by the thought that someone's clothes or jewellery makes someone question their sexuality. I feel like I'm back in the 90s.

What the OPs post does highlight, more than perhaps a smidgen of ignorance (no offence intended but the post sounds this way), is that sometimes you need to think long and hard about the way you phrase things on a forum as it can come over entirely wrong.

I've had blonde hair, have tattoos and big blingy earrings so hopefully that doesnt make me gay  :?

I'm not a huge fan of his and reckon he has the personaloty of a wet snot rage, but personally I think feck it if hes himself it'l give him more cinfidence rather than hindering him.. its not as if he's on the crack every weekend..

I can see the OP's point thought. Forget about the opinion on gay or not, it would be the change and impact that such a lifestyle change would have on his performance.

I guess not dissimilar to not wanting your children to start dating during an exam period, the distraction of the change could be enough to do not so well.

I just don't like him from the moment he pulled the race card a few years back.

He's got all the skill and none of the charisma - is probably what you're trying to say. You want to feel all warm and fuzzy when you listen to him on the TV, but you don't like him- and that irritates you. Understandable - as we have expectations of role models, but he's probably struggling with the position he is in, seems lost to me. Perhaps he is just a bit of a dick, but so was Schumacher compared to Hill, as much as we wear rose tinted glasses due to the tragic accident.
