Anyone actually "filling up"?

It's a fair cop...

Do you actually fill your tanks, or just put a set amount in (25l/£25???) when your running low? And if so, any particular reason?
Just a wonderingment more than a survey really. I tend to half fill as I can't see the point of dragging around the extra weight, unless I know I'll be doing more than 200+ miles in one hit.

always float between quarter empty and quarter full.. usually just dump in £20 when needed.

why? because I'm a tight fisted git who doesn't like to feel I'm being bent over a barrel every time I'm at the pump :)

Plan my fill ups to incorporate bypassing Tesco on the way home from work. Normally 40 or 60 quid.

Did a test the other day to see how accurate the remaining range was: 73 quid for 53 litres. Range has 8 miles left so not bad.

With an 80 mile commute daily, I wouldn't want to stop every day to get gas, so I fill er up every time.

Always fill to half a tank. Don't like carrying unnecessary weight in the tank or in the boot. A top ten tip for getting maximum mpg.

Do you make sure you take a dump before going for a drive as well? :poke:

Only fill to the brim when I am doing a lot of travelling, and most of it is expensed. Won't pay motorway prices if I can possibly help it. Otherwise £20 now and then - petrol prices vary a reasonable amount though, so if it drops 2 or 3p or I happen to pass a 'bargain' I will fill it. That said, neither of our cars sit on fumes - I need to know I can just jump in the car if anything untoward happens.

Yes believe in travelling light. :D usually stick in £25-30 at a time. Not as if there is a shortage of fuel stations.
